La Suite Matera Hotel & Spa

I had to vacate my modern cave hotel due to its malfunctioning air conditioning. Shout out to Cynthzia for always going above and beyond to enhance the experience even further. The difference between the hotels was stark. Eurostars Matera is the tipping point for me: I felt so pampered here that I will never go back to small hotel operations as there's so much they haven't considered in the guest experience whereas hotel chains like Eurostars tend to spend considerable rigor evaluating every aspect of the guest experience from the thread count to the bath amenities to the hair dryer, and more. These small details may seem nominal, but altogether, they compound the guest experience.

Excellent Location and Fantastic Staff! This hotel ticked all the boxes for a perfect city break. Its location is excellent—close to the central squares, bars, and restaurants, making it ideal for exploring the city. I booked a Deluxe Suite with Terrace (Room 402), and the room was a great size. The bathroom had excellent lighting, a large walk-in shower, and lovely fluffy robes. The bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated the additional chairs, which created a nice seating area for relaxing and watching the wall-mounted TV. There was also a steamer rather than a traditional iron, which was a great touch—and a first for me! Breakfast offered a fantastic variety, including all the usual juices, fresh fruit, cereals, eggs, cold meats, cheeses, pastries, and more. However, the real bonus was the staff. Every interaction was incredibly friendly and professional. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and we were given a large map of the city with nearby restaurants and places of interest highlighted, which was really helpful. A special mention to Katie at breakfast, who was absolutely lovely and always took the time to chat about our plans for the day. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily visit again!

Honestly can’t recommend this hotel enough - beautiful spacious clean rooms, lovely private spa (needs booking but never had an issue getting a slot) and the breakfast was great (mix of standard continental and some cooked options). Also literally 1 minute from the Sassi so you’ve got luxury and traditional all in one. Book it!

A top-class hotel in a perfect location in Matera, just a 5-minute walk from the Sassi. The staff (reception, breakfast service, housekeeping) are very friendly and attentive. The rooms are beautiful and very spacious, the private spa area is fantastic, and the breakfast leaves nothing to be desired (Italian cold cuts and cheese, local bread from Matera, Italian pastries, fresh fruit and vegetables). We stayed at this hotel for four nights and can highly recommend it. If we ever visit this fantastic city again, we will certainly stay at the Eurostars Matera La Suite once more. Thank you so much for everything! Andrea & Michael

This was an outstanding hotel, deserving of five stars. New building with all the amenities of a top-rated business hotel. Located at the entrance to old Matera, so you get the benefit of being very close without having to drag your suitcases in the Sasso. The Receptionist that greeted us was like an outstanding concierge, and she helped us get settled not only in the hotel but also with reservations at top restaurants. Her recommendations were all very helpful The room was very modern, very spacious with excellent brand toiletries, which would really appreciated. Great bed, great sheets, great towels.

Matera was a perfect start to our Puglian holiday.|This hotel was an excellent choice. Perfect location, 7 minutes from the Duomo, easy access to viewpoints, beautiful squares, restaurants and shops. A spacious room with a good view and an exceptionally comfortable bed(it’s surprising how often that isn’t the case even in five star hotels)|it had a very serene feeling, despite the fact that it was fully booked. Breakfast was excellent and the staff looked after us so well.|All the staff we encountered were helpful and delightful - particularly the reception team who organised our dinner reservation suggested restaurants for lunch and booked a fun Tuk Tuk tour.|My only regret I wish we had stayed longer at this extremely comfortable hotel!
