This is an old hotel, but clean and well maintained, we have a pleasant & comfort stay. Super happy with stunning river & mountain view from in-room balcony. Onsen is great with good water temperature, so relaxing. Staff is super nice with a touch of Japanese hospitalities. Breakfast & Dinner are good quality & variety. This hotel is not very closed to the nearest bus stop, so be prepared to travel light or use the luggage delivery service. Recommended.

The day use Onsen open to public at 7:00-9:00, 12:00-15:00. It is located at the right side of the entrance. 1000 JPY for entrance and 200 JPY for towels. Tickets must be purchased at the machine. In front of the Onsen entrance is a free open footbath. The water is lukewarm when I get there at noon. There is also a souvenir shop near the entrance of the Onsen. Quite reasonably priced. I was told the Onsen has 1 indoor pool and 3 outdoor pools. The outdoor pool is especially interesting, as you can bath while looking at the lush green scenery. Quite a walk from Kappa Bridge, this place is closer to Hotaka and Tashiro Bridge. Phone lines sometimes unclear here.

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel . The room is a traditional Japanese tatami room, very spacious for 2 persons with a balcony facing the river and the mountain. Room is just as shown in the photos. The front office staff are very helpful and friendly. They do speak abit of English. Breakfast and dinner were included . Dinner was multi course Japanese meal using seasonal produce . Do advise the hotel a few days in advance if you have any food preferences as they will try to accommodate. Meals very lovely presented . I stayed here 2 nights and dinner menu was different for each night . Hotel is about 20 to 25 min walk from the bus terminal. Best to pack a hand carry bag instead of a trolley bag as certain part of the trail to the hotel is unpaved and muddy after rain .Or check with the hotel for luggage delivery service Hotel also has a 24 hrs indoor and outdoor onsen ! Spacious and well maintained.

Stayed 2 nights at room 218, 13 to 15 May 2026. Our room comes with Onsen bath tub. U can also use the outdoor Onsen for free. 2 male and 2 female Onsen. Our package bundle with breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is buffet style, sorry forgot to take pics. Dinner is awesome. They have different menu for each day. We have a river facing room, u get to see monkey in the day and stars at night. I’ll like to also take this opportunity to thanks all the staffs from front desk to waitresses. They provide excellent service and tried their best to speak in English. We hiked in the raining and when we returned, they quietly cleaned up our shoes and dry it with heater. I feel so touched, we didn’t requested it. Mountain spring water are provided at lounge area. There is a shop selling snacks , drinks, and even bear meat. Vending machine available too. Paid lunch available at lounge area. I love their beef steak curry rice with cheese. U can top with additional onsen egg. Location is about 20min walk from bus terminal. So try not to bring any trolley luggage. Use a hiking bag. You’ll get to see magnificent Mountain View while heading to hotel. Thank you so much for the enjoyable stay. We hope to be back again sometime in future.

What an authentic and awesome Japanese experience this onsen hotel provided. It’s situated in the mountains of the Japanese Alps. The air is crisp. It is within walking distance of the train station. It’s a rural experience so if you enjoy hiking, this place is for you. We stayed two days here. We hiked & enjoyed the onsen. There is a rustic, natural aroma within the room. Other reviewers write about this “smell” / aroma. I was not bothered by it. It’s an older hotel. Probably built in the 60s/70s? It’s very clean. We enjoyed our experience here.

The weather forced us to leave early due to the risk of road closures. The staff proactively contacted us, helped us leave safely the next morning, and even refunded our 2nd night stay. Their integrity and hospitality were extraordinary. We hope to return under blue skies. Arigato Gomaisa!

Really enjoyed our stay in this ryokan hotel. Staff are friendly, helpful and speak English. Our stay included Japanese dinner and breakfast which were delicious. Must try the onsen! Location is 750 meters from Kappa Bashi Bridge and other attractions. Great time to visit is in autumn.

The facilities are a bit old, but everything is spotless and well maintained. The staff are warm and welcoming, making the stay very pleasant. The onsen is fantastic, with two different natural hot spring sources and a continuous flow system that keeps the water fresh. It’s about a 15–20 minute walk from Kappabashi, but the rates are quite reasonable compared to other places inside Kamikochi.
