I've had a great experience at this hotel! The location is excellent, the room is clean, and the bed is comfortable. Although I encountered some issue during check-in, it won't deter me from staying here again. I just hope the process will be smoother next time.

Arrived late and a quick check in and into the restaurant . Food was delicious and great menus A glass of wine at everyday price and the service was 1st class. This hotel is only 150 Mrs from the main rail station in Melbourne. I will stay here again for sure

Booked and paid in advance. Muskan was excellent throughout the process of booking and paying. 10 out of 10 for service and help 👍 When I arrived, Erika also was excellent too, facilitating early check in, for both luggage, then early check in for my room. 10 out 10 as well 👍 Also received help from Monika who was great as well at reception. A fantastic team 😁 So professional and helpful. My first booking of a room in Melbourne , and I will always book with this hotel because of my positive experience with the team. I cannot rate them to highly 👍😁 🇦🇺. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I know I booked a No Housekeeping price but I expected them to atleast change our towels for the next day since we stay for nights. But, great location tho.

Great southern cross hotel is commented for its own way of dealing with customers. Every time I book there I feel very comfortable and safe. Because I a a disabled person they took all the necessary steps for my safety with my walker. They do their best for me to have a good time there. I book a room there a lot because of my health needs and they never fail to be at my expectations. I recommend this hotel to lots of my friends. I would like to thank everyone from the staff and I don’t know what to give them back as a recognition of their awesome work. The only thing I could do is book there again and again. Good on all the staff and keep up the excellent work. ✋👏👏👏👍👍👍♥️

This is not a five star hotel in the traditional sense (nor does it purport to be). However for its price point, it's fabulous location and what it offers it is seriously excellent value. I stayed twice overnight in the space of a week and was really impressed with the quality of the rooms, the cleanliness and the lovely staff who were really accommodating and friendly. Beds were nothing luxurious but totally adequate for what you're paying for. My first stay was an inner king room and the only negative for me was that it was quite noisy, I could hear every footstep from the people above me and their phone conversation in great detail at 1am and people moving around outside quite late into the night. However the darkness of the room was amazing and I was surprised when I realised the time when I woke up the next morning because it remained so dark with the room door privacy screen closed. The second time I was in a bigger room with a window and my stay was entirely silent, didn't hear a peep out of anyone. This room was spacious and had a pleasant view out to the street and included a bathtub and microwave. So it may be pot luck with room assignment your experience and even despite the noise on the first occasion I didn't hesitate to stay again and am so glad I did! I'll definitely be returning as this find has opened up my ability to be able to comfortably afford to visit the city more often from regional Victoria ustilising public transport.

Great choice of hotel for travelers like me. Stayed the weekend here with my boyfriend in the smallest room option and found it very nice. Would definitely choose a bigger room next time I book here. Service is great, and rooms are clean and cozy. There's also a luggage holding service they offer for free which we took advantage of after our checkout, while we had a few hours to spend in the city. Definitely would recommend if you are looking for a good hotel to stay at!

A pleasant and conveniently located hotel just a short walk from Southern Cross Station, Melbourne's main transport hub and the primary arrival point for travelers coming from the airport via the SkyBus. The reception area is bright, clean, and welcoming, blending touches of Victorian elegance with modern design elements. The overall atmosphere feels polished without being overly formal. The staff were consistently warm, accommodating, and helpful, making check-in and the rest of my stay smooth and hassle-free. **Last check-in:** June 24, 2026 I stayed in **Room 128**, which was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was generously sized and provided a great night's sleep. The bathroom was also well-maintained, though I did notice a slight unpleasant odor whenever the bathroom lights or ventilation system were switched on. It wasn't a major issue, but it was noticeable. The television was somewhat buggy during my stay, though it didn't significantly affect the overall experience. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay. With its excellent location, comfortable rooms, and friendly service, this hotel is a great choice for anyone looking for a convenient base while exploring Melbourne.
