We chose to stay at Park Hyatt Melbourne as part of the Family retreat program via St Vincent's hospital expecting the high standards, luxury experience and exceptional service associated with a five-star hotel. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. During our stay, access to certain facilities, including the pool and spa area, was restricted. These restrictions significantly impacted our experience and were not clearly communicated to us when we originally made our plans. What has been even more disappointing is how management handled our concerns afterwards. After raising the matter, I received a response acknowledging that aspects of our stay had been affected. However, rather than offering a meaningful resolution. For a hotel carrying the Park Hyatt name and charging premium rates, I expected much better communication, accountability and customer care. What disappointed me most wasn't simply the restricted facilities, but the way our concerns were handled afterwards. A luxury hotel experience should be about more than beautiful rooms and facilities. It's also about how guests are treated when things go wrong. I have decided not to pursue the matter further, but I wanted to share my experience so other guests can make an informed decision before booking. Unfortunately, this experience has left me with a very poor impression of Park Hyatt Melbourne, and I would think twice before staying here again

We had a wonderful time staying here. It is a very elegant hotel and yet very welcoming. We were blown away by the buffet breakfast. It was so delicious. We loved spending time in the pool and spa. The room was spacious and beautiful. We celebrated our anniversary here and highly recommend it.

In Melbourne for a theatre weekend and stayed here for the first time. It was fabulous. The hotel had a modern art deco charm and was beautifully presented. An abundance of staff made sure every need was met and the oversized rooms were luxurious and lacked nothing. Finally found a 5 star hotel that deserved its stars. The Hyatt team worked hard to ensure we had a great time. Location wise was perfect just near the theatre district and we walked to Rod Laver Arena to see the John Farnham Tribute concert. Highly recommended a quite luxurious place to stay - on the east edge of the city.

stayed for my 40th and overall had a lovely stay. We were given a complimentary room upgrade, which was such a nice surprise, and there was a birthday cake waiting in the room for me when we arrived. kids absolutely loved the pool and thought having a spa in our room was the best thing ever. The bed was also comfortable. The rooms are starting to feel slightly dated though, and unfortunately the TV in the spa wasn’t working, which was disappointing as that had been one of the big drawcards for booking as kids wanted to watch tv in there. The breakfast buffet was pretty good with plenty of choice, although having stayed at both, we prefer the breakfast at the Grand Hyatt. We also find the Grand Hyatt’s location a bit better for us as it’s closer to the middle of the action, whereas the Park Hyatt feels slightly more removed from everything. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Didn’t like the hotel dog being off lead. Our kids are scared of dogs and it came right up to them, which made them uncomfortable. I think in a hotel environment, particularly with lots of different guests and children around, it would be better for the dog to be kept on lead around guests. Overall, a fun stay for my 40th and we really appreciated the thoughtful birthday touches and complimentary upgrade.

A delightful & delicious high tea! I really enjoyed the crab & salmon roe tartlet and wagyu bresaola. The assortment of sandwiches was also very good. Desserts + scones with several choices in jams with cream were divine. Too full to finish everything, but were able to take our scones home! Service was friendly and helpful. Would happily dine here again!

This was our second time having high tea here and we were really impressed with how much things had improved compared to our first visit. Service from the team was friendly and attentive and Yaz who looked after our table was particularly excellent. All the food items were beautifully presented on a three-tired stand. The menu created by executive chef Dane was delicious and creative. Both the sweet and savoury dishes were fresh, flavourful, and well balanced. Sandwiches were also very tasty. The scones were served warm with a selection of jams and cream and were fluffy inside with a crispy shell. Overall a very lovely high tea experience.

There was a lot to like... However, there were also a few things that disappointed us Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at the Park Hyatt Melbourne. There was a lot to like about the hotel, from the spacious room and excellent food to the breakfast, facilities and location. However, there were also a few things that disappointed us, including an issue with our room and, more importantly, the way our agreed late checkout was handled. Here's our experience. Our room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully laid out, with a lovely view. The only oddity was that the dining table had only one chair, which seemed a little unusual for a king room intended for two people. The food was excellent. Both the room service and restaurant meals were of a very high standard and, in our opinion, definitely justified the higher prices. Breakfast was another highlight. Our package included breakfast, and the buffet offered an excellent range of choices. The chefs also cooked eggs to order, and the service throughout breakfast was outstanding. The hotel facilities, including the pool, were also very good. The location is excellent, with Fitzroy Gardens just a short walk away. It's a lovely area to explore, with Cooks' Cottage and other attractions within the gardens. There were a couple of relatively minor issues with the room. The king bed had a doona but no sheet or blanket, and we found it too warm. We had to contact reception to request these, as they weren't provided in the room. As mentioned, having only one chair at the dining table was also a little inconvenient. Our biggest disappointment, however, was how our late checkout was handled. As part of our package,we had a 1:00 pm checkout instead of the hotel's standard 11:00 am checkout. Despite this, at around 11:30 am we received a call to the room, followed about twenty minutes later by someone knocking on the door to "check the room status". We explained that we had a 1:00 pm checkout but would be leaving shortly. We felt this put unnecessary pressure on us to leave, particularly as the late checkout had already been agreed. What made this more disappointing was that, when we later called to have our receipt emailed to us, we were told that another guest was already in the room. This was before our agreed 1:00 pm checkout time. Apart from this experience, we had a very good stay. The room, food, breakfast, facilities and location were all excellent, and the staff were generally very helpful and attentive. The handling of the late checkout was disappointing and, for a hotel of this standard, we would have expected the agreed checkout time to have been properly communicated to the relevant staff.
