My husband and I stayed at the Barceló México Reforma from August 26 through September 5, and the hotel and its staff were amazing. The hotel was clean and beautiful. You can't beat the value for the price and I recommend upgrading the room if you plan on staying there. The free breakfast buffet more than made up for the extra price for the room. I had surgery during our visit, and the care shown by the staff meant so much to us. When we returned to the hotel, we didn’t even have to ask for assistance. An employee immediately asked us to wait, then returned with a wheelchair for me. The staff also provided plastic bags for ice to help with my recovery. Everyone we encountered on the 12th floor was kind, attentive and remembered us throughout our stay. Breakfast was another highlight. Irene at the buffet and the wonderful employees at the cook-to-order section were warm, friendly and made us feel welcome every morning. The location is also excellent. There are many museums, restaurants and interesting places to explore within walking distance, making the hotel a wonderful base for discovering Mexico City. I was so impressed that I joined the Barceló loyalty program and will be looking for many more vacation opportunities at Barceló hotels. The best endorsement I can give is that I’m already returning to this hotel in November for a special mother-and-son trip. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Mexico City!

Stayed here with my mom, aunt and brother for a week in the premium level for the grito. We absolutely loved our stay. All the staff and workers are very kind and professional. Always answered any questions or concerns with a smile and friendly demeanor. Housekeeping always kept our room spotless. I asked for a special service from the concierge and they did a quick and excellent job to help us out. And special thanks to the kind ladies who work on the premium level at both the check in desk and the waitresses at the lounge for always being super kind. Bartenders on the first floor were very kind and the ladies playing the piano and violin did an amazing job. Hotel has security at the entrance and is very safe. This hotel is worth every penny and I'll be returning again one day

Its is a wonderful hotel. We had a nice, large room with a great view, and the location is perfect. The check in staff at the main lobby and at the premium lounge (we spent the extra few dollars for a premium level room, and it was worth it) were very friendly, professional, and patient. My only gripe was the elevators. Two were out of order, but we found the service elevators were nearby and those were faster for us. I definitely recommend the hotel.

I have stayed here many times and always had a good experience. Smooth check in and check out, nice restaurant and bar, comfortable rooms. There are cheaper hotels but I always feel at home in this one.

My stay at Barceló Mexico Reforma was a mixed experience. While there were several aspects of the hotel that I genuinely enjoyed, my overall stay was overshadowed by repeated communication failures between management and the restaurant staff. The room was comfortable, well-maintained, and of a high standard. I also enjoyed the breakfast selection, which offered plenty of choice and good-quality food. In addition, the room service was excellent, with both the quality of the meals and the service meeting my expectations. Unfortunately, every single morning at breakfast I had to explain to a different waiter that my breakfast was covered under an open tab. It became frustrating and exhausting to have the same conversation day after day. This issue should have been easily avoided. It is not difficult for the catering team to hold a brief daily meeting to review which guests have breakfast tabs or special arrangements in place, ensuring all waiting staff are aware before service begins. Although a manager apologised for the inconvenience, I was disappointed that I later had to remind him about the complimentary amenities I had been promised because of the original issue. These were eventually provided, and I appreciated that they honoured the commitment. However, the fact that I had to raise the matter again only highlighted the ongoing communication problems between management and the restaurant. Overall, I don't dislike Barceló Mexico Reforma, but I have stayed in better hotels where communication and customer service were far more seamless. For future trips, I think I'll stick with my trusted RIU hotels, where I have consistently received excellent service. Barceló has many strengths, but this experience left me feeling that the guest experience could have been much better with stronger internal communication.

The service from the hotel was terrible. Our room was constantly being knocked on even though we had the do not disturb on the room. The air conditioning in our room was broken, and we had to wait 4 hours for them to try and fix it before enough was enough and I requested a new room. I was told they don’t have another room with a double bed. I applied some pressure and suddenly the room was available. The food in the La Fontana restaurant was not even freshly cooked. We had dinner there and all 9 of us received reheated food, but paid full price for it. Staff did not follow instructions. There was a smoking area within the hotel, I left a £100 cigar there and kindly requested to all the bar staff, please do not throw it away as I am going to the bathroom, by the time I come back, it has been disposed of. Purely based on the quality of the food, this cannot be considered a 5 star restaurant, I am extremely disappointed with my stay. There was an issue with the elevators, in which there was alarm noise for a minimum of 2 hours during 2-4am.

The property is beautiful and well-maintained, though it is old. The dining facilities and Premium amenities were enjoyable, but also old. Other Barcelo properties offer much better amenities, such as L'Occitane branded toiletries in the premium rooms. This property only offers that brand in the Premium Lounge Bathroom, which I would consider inaccessible. The breakfast at the LL restaurant is a much better value than dining in the breakfast lounge. The superior rooms are more than basic. The Junior Suite was much more enjoyable; however, no additional amenities. The bed and pillows are more than comfortable. You'll enjoy the pool and spa. They don't offer you towels, robes, slippers, or even a locker key. You MUST ask for all of them. The complimentary toiletries in the spa are low-quality and smell bad. I regretted using them. I would NOT likely stay here again. The premium lounge offerings are nothing compared to the breakfast buffet. The happy hour of cheap beer and wine was not enjoyable.

Thank you to Alex (front desk) and to the Hotel Taxi driver’s: Arturo Lugo and Javier Lira are a FIVE STAR for HIRE MUST!! These fellas know the ins and outs and history of Mexico City, like no other! They are also super reliable and offer airport transport for reasonable prices. HIRE them and also book your tours with Monopolies Tours, located near the hotel LL restaurant. Miguel, Carlos, Noe and Evelyn ate amazing tour guides. It is a door to door service and they offer incredible all day tours for a very reasonable price. Honestly, without all these people along with the amazing hotel staff:bell boys, Buffett waiters, hosts, concierge, housekeepers and all the security, our trip was one the BEST ever!!! Thank YOU to each and every one of you for allowing for our family of five to have enjoyed Mexico in such a great light!!!! We cannot wait to come back soon!!!!
