Visit from November to April for the driest and most comfortable weather, with November, December, and February having the fewest rainy days and mild temperatures around 24°C. March and April are also pleasant, with clear skies and warmer highs near 28°C, though April sees slightly more rain. The rainy season runs from May through September, with July and August being the wettest, so plan around those months if you prefer sunny days. June and October sit between seasons, offering manageable rain but cooler conditions.},
Stay in Polanco for upscale dining and museums like Museo Soumaya, close to Bosque de Chapultepec. Centro Histórico suits first-timers, with Constitution Plaza and Palacio de Bellas Artes nearby. Roma and Condesa offer a relaxed, leafy vibe with cafés and parks. Reforma is central for easy access to sights and the Monument to the Revolution.
Constitution Plaza is the historic heart, with the cathedral and government buildings. Bosque de Chapultepec is a vast green space with museums and the castle. Palacio de Bellas Artes stands out for its murals and stunning architecture. The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a major pilgrimage site with great cultural significance. Museo Nacional de Antropología holds the world's finest collection of pre-Hispanic artifacts.
Full-day tours go to Tolantongo for its hot springs and caves, and to Teotihuacan, often combined with a hot air balloon flight and breakfast in caves. Another option is Xochimilco, Coyoacan, and Frida Kahlo's house, covering canals, a colonial neighborhood, and the artist's museum. A tour also includes the Basilica of Guadalupe and Tlatelolco alongside Teotihuacan.
Plan 4 days for the city itself. Spend two days on the historic center with Constitution Plaza, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Alameda Central, and the Monument to the Revolution, plus one day for Bosque de Chapultepec, Chapultepec Castle, and the Museo Nacional de Antropología. Use a fourth day for the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Museo Soumaya. Add an extra day if you take a day trip to Teotihuacan.
