Hilton Honors members here. We were delighted to visit Montreal for a special anniversary. Part of our enthusiasm was out hotel choice and its location for what we wanted to do with our week-long visit. Our hotel selection was the only disappointment to our entire Montreal experience. Great location nearby to McGill University and clean spaces are the highlights of this hotel. The rooftop pool and deck were a nice respite for relaxing, and the fitness center looked reasonable as we passed. That said, ultimatley, it was a disappointing selection. If you are looking for comfort or more than laissez faire approaches customer service, you are well advised to consider an alternative. The restaurant seemed understaffed when I went for a breakfast my first morning, and to grab an early coffee on a different day. The wait time was not readily justified by the amount of patronage at breakfast. I do not remember the last time a complimentary coffee station was not available in the lobby of a hotel at this price point. The climate control in our room on the 2nd floor seemed to be functioning, but not all that well. Despite a 70-72 (20-21 c) setting, it was not a comfortable tempature during the day, nor for sleeping at night. The king size bed was in dire need of a mattress that did not sag in the center, and linens that were not scratchy or pilled. We had a full 7 night stay, with Thursday arrival and departure. We were happy to opt for the more environmentally friendly cleaning schedule; we were due 2 cleanings during our stay. We arrived from a long day out touring in the late afternoon of the first cleaning day, and the room next door was being serviced. We figured we were next but when we checked, the staff person and cart were gone. After a bit, we inquired with the front desk from our room. It was clear that our status was documented; it just seemed to have been overlooked. We were told service would be on the way. About an hour later, they had not arrived. I went to the desk to inquire. The desk agent was relatively dismissive of my concern noting that housekeeping had been notified. I indicated we were waiting for service so we could prepare for our evening plans. At that point I requested the agent directly contact housekeeping with me present, explain my concern, and ask for a timeframe for the service. When he demuured noting that the request was already in, I made it clear I was not leaving reception without that call. With disbelief and distaste apparent on his face, he complied with my request. After the call with housekeeping concluded I was informed that a staff person had been directed to attend our room and would be on the way. That person did arrive, and she did a fine job refreshing the space. About five minutes after she left, a different staff member showed up to clean. Evidently this was the first person tasked by the supervisor, before my visit to the front desk. There are any number of direct competitors on price in the area, and certainly more elevated hotel experiences available. My next visit to Montreal will certainly chose an alternative. Management, if you are still reading: consider making Will Guidara's book *Unreasonable Hospitality* part of your reading list.

Location was fine a short walk to the main shopping area and it is a seemingly safe area. The service is great to check in. The cafe isn't that great service is a bit pedestrian and the prices for the food presented make it unattractive. Overall I would stay here again, the showers work well, the soap and toiletries provided make it a good place for up to a week or longer for business or leisure

We arrived late at around 19:00. The staff was friendly and check in process very smooth. Hotel is Just 10 minutes away from down town and there are many restaurants to choose. Hotel is only minutes of walk to Metro Station, very convenient.

There was a time when The Hilton Hotel chain was a marque brand. Sadly its now only a not h above a Best Western. But somehow maintains a high price. The decor of this one is neither stylish classic nor clean, vibrant modern. The restaurant service is poor for expensive prices. A n average bagel and cream cheese $20. Frankly not much better than you get at Tim Hortons. Ironic considering Montreal has the best bagels in the country. Coffee was ok but milk was creamer in single plastic tubs. And I waited 10 mins for a refill even though there were 3 people in the restuarant.

The service here was great. The staff was very friendly. I arrived early and they gave me access to my room before the check in time. Very helpful and welcoming. The rooms are simple but spacious and it was clean. The area around the hotel was undergoing construction but otherwise it’s on a good area and is very walkable.

Let’s be honest, this is a mid-level hotel in the middle of Montreal with middling service and average rooms. It’s a value play, but there are issues. The first big one is cheaping out with no coffee service so they can charge you by the cup in their restaurant. The main guy there is running around and doing his best. But it would be better to let patrons get their own as part of paying hundreds a night to stay here. Secondly, I was surprised by the fly problem… flies in the restaurant, the lobby area, and the room. The light on the fancy touch sensitive bathroom mirror wouldn’t turn off. We kept the bathroom door closed. They did accommodate a request for a high floor and they have a cab staged by the front door when needed which is nice. The location is better for business travel than vacation, but we knew that going in. You’ll be fine staying here but expect the basic city hotel experience.

The location is very convenient to the metro and other activities, and the staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, we weren't completely satisfied with the room that needs to be updated. Our room had a musty smell that may have just been from the age of the room or maybe from someone smoking at some point in the past. The bathroom was clean, and the bedroom area was as clean as you can get with a quick servicing. But the room really needs a deep clean. They need to take out the furniture and clean into all of the corners of the carpet. And at that point, just replace the old carpet. Also, the room is dark to the point of being a little dreary. We had an issue with how the hotel schedules room service. We signed up for a program where they clean once every 3 days and give you points. Which would have been fine, except on the 3rd day, they came at 4:45pm when we had just gotten back to the room, and my daughter was in the shower. We were out again by 5pm, but they never came back. And then they didn't come back the next day either. If a room is only getting cleaned once every 3 days, it's important not to let it go 5+ days without cleaning.

I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been staying in hotels so often in France or what but the care and service from every single person in this hotel struck me as above and beyond. Good old fashioned Canadian “nice” maybe. From the lady at the front desk who was so very lovely and personable (she made a point to find us a great room) to the maintenance man who came up to fiddle with our air conditioning late at night… everyone was super accommodating. I left my blingy Stanley cup at checkout at the desk and she even remembered it was mine and called me after we left - she remembered whose it was! Rooms were clean and fantastic. Restaurant is slightly overpriced for what you get… but restaurant service was very good. They printed documents for me with a smile and I didn’t even ask the young man at the desk suggested it. They made what turned out to be a very frustrating trip for personal administration slightly ok lol. They were all the highlight of the 24 hours I was in the city. All in all I would highly recommend a stay here.
