The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. There were many options available, but most of the food was not good and definitely not what you would expect from a five-star hotel. The hotel interiors and overall vibe are nice, but the hospitality, especially is not up to a five-star standard as the staff did not feel very polite or welcoming. That said, one of the staff members at the counter, a North-East Indian gentleman, was very nice and helpful. Housekeeping service was good and the staff was very responsive when we asked for cleaning and other requests.

We had a wonderful stay at The LaLiT Mumbai. The entire experience was truly luxurious, from the elegant ambiance to the comfortable and well-maintained rooms. The hotel’s location is excellent, offering great connectivity to the airport and key areas of the city, which made our travel very convenient. What stood out the most was the warm hospitality and attentive service provided by the staff. Everyone was courteous, professional, and always willing to help, making our stay both comfortable and memorable. The rooms were spacious, clean, and equipped with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. We especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, which allowed our family to unwind and enjoy quality time together. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so pleasant.

HolidayI recently stayed at The Lalit Mumbai and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing overall.One of the most frustrating aspects of my stay was the excessive security checks. Every single time I entered the hotel, I was stopped and scanned with a metal detector. Even when the detector beeped, they would simply let me through without any proper follow-up. It honestly felt like they were just going through the motions to appear vigilant, rather than implementing meaningful security measures. Being stopped repeatedly for no clear reason quickly became very annoying.The reception staff were also not particularly welcoming. They didn’t seem happy or motivated in their roles, and the overall interaction lacked warmth and professionalism. For a hotel in this price range, I expected a much more pleasant and attentive front desk experience which is the first point of contact.The rooms themselves were decent, but nothing special—certainly not up to par with the price per night. The food was also expensive, which is expected in a high-end hotel, but the quality did not justify the cost.Another inconvenient policy is that they do not allow delivery to the lobby. Guests have to go all the way outside the hotel premises to collect any food or packages. This feels unnecessarily restrictive and inconvenient, especially when many other hotels allow deliveries at least up to the main entrance.The room has a small balcony in front of the room but that is closed and not accessible.On a positive note, the cleaning and maintenance staff were excellent. They were consistently visible in the corridors, hardworking, and always ready to help with a smile. They truly stood out and deserve recognition. The breakfast was also a highlight, plenty of options, good taste, and very helpful staff in the breakfast area.The location is good if you want get away from the traffic when going to airport, but not handy when trying to get to sightseeing and explore Mumbai.Overall, while there were a few bright spots, the experience did not justify the price, and I expected much better from a hotel of this reputation.Hopefully management will look into ways to improve the customer experience in the future

We had a wonderful three-day stay at The Lalit Mumbai. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The staff were courteous, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. We also appreciated the overall hospitality and arrangements. It was a pleasant and comfortable experience, and we would be happy to stay here again.

A Decent Stay, but Below Expectations from The Lalit Overall, the stay was decent, but several shortcomings affected my experience. Given The Lalit’s premium positioning and reputation, I expected better standards of room hygiene, maintenance, and guest service. Areas for Improvement 1. Misleading Information About the Room View: At check-in, I specifically requested a room with a good or decent view. The reception staff assured me that the assigned room was one of the best. However, the room overlooked a cluster of jhuggis. Such misleading assurances undermine guest trust. The management should sensitise its staff to communicate honestly rather than make exaggerated claims. 2. Room Hygiene and Pest Control: There were mosquitoes in the room, although the pest control team subsequently resolved the issue. On another occasion, I noticed ant-like insects crawling underneath a glass while working. These incidents raise concerns about housekeeping and pest control standards. 3. Dirty Electric Kettle: The kettle was unclean, and I had to request twice before the issue was addressed. Basic amenities should be checked proactively rather than requiring repeated reminders. 4. Poor Washroom Drainage: The shower drain was getting clogged, resulting in slow water drainage. This basic maintenance issue should have been addressed before the room was allocated. What I Liked - Convenient Location: Just 1.1 km from Mumbai Airport, the property is an excellent choice for travellers looking to minimise transit time and avoid peak-hour traffic. - Well-Maintained Property: Despite being over 20 years old, the hotel has been maintained remarkably well. - Dining Options: Multiple restaurants and a bar offer guests a good variety of dining and leisure choices. - Gym: A spacious gym with a good range of equipment. - Breakfast: A sumptuous spread with plenty of variety, including approximately 6–8 dessert options. - Swimming Pool and Spa: Both facilities were clean and well maintained, adding to the overall appeal of the property. - Complimentary Steam Bath: A welcome additional facility for residents. Disappointing Guest Relations Perhaps the most disappointing aspect was the lack of response from Guest Relations. Despite sharing my feedback with Anushka Mane, there was neither an acknowledgement nor any indication of action. This is unacceptable for a premium hotel. At the very least, guests deserve an acknowledgement and assurance that their concerns are being addressed. Final Verdict The hotel's location, upkeep, dining options, gym, breakfast, swimming pool, and spa are definite positives. However, these do not compensate for shortcomings in basic room hygiene, maintenance, and guest service. Guests paying premium tariffs deserve clean rooms, functional amenities, honest communication, and professional complaint handling. These are fundamental hospitality standards, not luxury extras. My initial expectations from The Lalit were around 9/10, but this experience brought my overall rating down to 5–6/10. I hope the management addresses these gaps and improves its handling of guest feedback. A premium hotel's reputation depends not only on its facilities but also on the quality of its service and how it responds when things go wrong. Unfortunately, this experience fell well short of my expectations.

Had a really lovely stay here. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. What I appreciated the most was the warm hospitality—everyone we interacted with was polite, and always ready to help. A special mention to the Japanese and Chinese restaurant OKO. The chef himself came to our table, understood our preferences, and suggested dishes accordingly. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and the food was absolutely scrumptious. The breakfast buffet had a good variety, everything was fresh, and the staff was courteous throughout. The swimming pool was my favourite part of the property. Surrounded by lush greenery, it was spotlessly clean and so peaceful that we ended up spending almost three hours each day there just relaxing. Overall, it was a memorable stay, and I’d definitely love to come back.

If you visit The Lalit and spend time in the lounge, you will be genuinely impressed by the staff. Today I had the pleasure of interacting with Zen G, Miss Rozy, Miss Sheetal, and Manager Gaurav. Their outstanding hospitality and the gracious, professional manner in which they engage with every guest left me completely amazed. Watching this young generation work with such dedication, courtesy, and excellence is truly heartening — they are in no way less capable or polished than one would expect from one’s own children. It seriously feels wonderful to see young professionals perform at this level. People of this calibre deserve every opportunity to grow and advance in their careers. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed my experience at The Lalit Mumbai. The hotel has a stylish and welcoming ambience with spacious, well-maintained surroundings.
