A huge thank you to Gwen at Hôtel Helvétique in Nice for making the final day of our Europe trip so memorable! He welcomed us warmly and went out of his way to accommodate us, making us feel comfortable and well looked after from the moment we arrived. His thoughtful recommendations for places to eat and explore helped us make the most of our time in Nice and end our trip on a wonderful note. Gwen’s kindness, attentiveness, and local knowledge made such a difference. We’ll remember his hospitality long after this trip—thank you, Gwen!

The hotel in my opinion is fairly rated at three stars. Staff were all very friendly to us and helpful when it was needed, the building itself is quite dated and the rooms are okay, nothing bad but nothing outstanding either. It’s in a great location right in the middle of the city which is great. For the negatives: I’m unsure if the towels were being properly washed as they had a funky smell, the bathroom was very small, and the walls are very very thin. Overall nothing big to complain about and I enjoyed my stay.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Helvétique. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, which made me feel immediately at home. The location was fantastic — so convenient for exploring Old Nice, with the Avenue Jean Médecin shopping area just a short walk away. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the bed was particularly comfortable after a long day of exploring. I especially loved having a balcony overlooking the street below. It was such a lovely spot to sit and take in the atmosphere of Nice. A wonderful stay, and I would happily return.

Don’t believe the high reviews here on Google Reviews…they were only given because you can spin a wheel to get free things if you leave a high review online. I saw that wheel and immediately felt duped—we regretted booking here as soon as we walked in! This hotel is a dump, plain and simple. So dirty. There were gnats flying all around the lobby water station, the whole place smells poorly, and the rooms are not the cleanest. They attempt to cover the stench by pumping essential oil misters all over the place. I did not feel comfortable even walking barefoot in the room. The front desk wanted to charge 6€ to use a beach towel. Ridiculous! The brown bath towels (gross) were stained with a dark substance. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough… avoid for sure…
