We had stayed in a castle before in Spain but this one was a little different. We stayed in the tower which had 2 separate bedrooms and was kind of its own building. Very cool, however, our room had a strong smell that I did not care for. Our friends thought it might be an anti mold spray or something. We tried to keep the door open as much as possible. Our friends are tall and their bed was not long enough for them. There are rooms in the main part of the castle and we wondered if those wouldnt have been better to stay in but we really have no idea. The other thing you should know is that while we were able to get our bags taken to our room at 3 in the afternoon, which was great bec there were many stairs and cobblestones to get to the rooms, on the day we left, we had to carry our own bags down many flights of stairs bec the bellhop didnt come on till 9:30 and we were being picked up at 8:30. Thank goodness our ride knew the back way to the hotel otherwise we would have had to take them through the streets of Obidos as well. We did have dinner and breakfast at the hotel and it was good.

Federico and Fabio are a star act. Friendly and hospitable and welcoming waiters Also very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great recommendations for both the wine and food. The chef excelled herself. Superb gaspacho, chicken casserole with matching wines. But the pièce de résistance was her personally crafted chocolate which won the Obidos chocolate challenge. A superb evening on a magical location. Thank you Federico and Fabio.

We had a lovely dinner. The food was fantastic. Federico and Fabio went above and beyond. They were the only servers in a crowded restaurant, but did a fantastic job. They were genuinely interested in making sure we had a good experience. The view is very pretty and it was overall, very nice evening.

We had an incredible evening served dinner by Luis and Federico at Pousada Castle of Obidos. They were warm, inviting, funny, and treated us like family. We had an amazing evening — one of our best in all of our time in Portugal — and we will definitely be back for more quality time with them. Of course, the food, drink, view and ambiance were excellent as well. Best, Barry & Dina Thompson

Lovely location. There are rooms in the castle, but if you want this, suggest you contact hotel to confirm as most rooms are in the annex attached to castle. You cant enter town walls - but park outside, call and give your location and hotel will send a van for you and your luggage. Food in hotel restaurant is excellent. Full access to the castel as a guest whether staying in castle itself or annex.

We only went there for lunch but experience was delightful. They have a bacalhau recipe that is unique to the place. and a delicious lemon pie for dessert. Great meal and service. Our waiter Federico was outstanding. Helped steer our choices and was very friendly.

would like to thank you for an absolutely wonderful experience. Even though we weren't expecting such a high-end venue, the service was exceptionally warm and attentive. A huge special thanks goes to Mr. Leandro, who truly made our evening unforgettable. He was incredibly welcoming, took exceptional care of us, and made sure we got a table with a breathtaking view. His outstanding hospitality and professional approach made all the difference. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for first-class service and a fantastic atmosphere!

Such a pleasant and unique experience staying in a castle. We completely enjoyed our overnight stay. The staff were all exceptionally helpful and made it a special experience. We traveled via motorcycle, which was well accomodated. All parking is in large carpark areas in town, which we were assured are very safe. The hotel arranges to meet customers in the lot to transport people and luggage through the walled town up to the castle. Quite unique and special. They coordinated with us in advance via Whatsapp so our wait for the van was very short.
