My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and it was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all our expectations. We’ve never experienced such exceptional service in our lives, and it was worth every penny. Every staff member was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel special. I couldn’t be happier that we chose The Ritz-Carlton Okinawa for such an important trip. I would love to give individual shout-outs, but I’d end up listing the entire staff! Everyone was amazing, especially the hotel manager, who took such great care of us throughout our stay, and the bartender, who made our experience even more memorable. We can’t wait to return!

I had a few challenges during my recent stay at the hotel. Firstly, I requested a late check-out after booking but unfortunately, my request was not accommodated. Additionally, at 11 PM, I experienced a malfunction with the TV in my room, which was quite inconvenient. I noticed that the hotel restaurant GUSUKU advertised lunch options, but it was unexpectedly closed during my visit. Lastly, I was surprised to find that access to the sauna required an additional fee, especially since most hotels typically include it with swimming pool access.

The views at this property are stunning if you are staying in the suite. All the staff are friendly, attentive and eager to please to make your stay memorable. I had the pleasure of meeting Junsan (greeted at check-in) and Okadasan (reception desk). Both of these individuals were outstanding with the service they provided. Anything you choose off the menu is prepared to perfection and the portions are plentiful. If you're a golfer the course is beautiful. This hotel is the perfect location for a "staycation." The grounds are immaculate and it can be very relaxing to just sit and look at the views this property provides and feel the natural breeze. I have stayed at this location multiple times and I look forward to a visit again soon!

Marriott VIP here. I almost never write reviews but this Ritz Carlton deserves one - PLEASE AVOID! Worst one I’ve stayed at and I’m a frequent flyer/ traveller. I should have trusted the reviews - I thought there’s a certain standard that a Ritz Carlton property will hold itself to, but I was proven wrong. Food: Kise (Teppanaki) is fine; Riva (the Italian) is hopelessly bad. The seafood pasta is so overcooked I can’t finish it. The grilled octopus is ice cold by the time it got to us. I saw good reviews for the Vitello Tonnato - it was so bland and just so bad I needed to ask for black pepper (because there’s almost no tuna sauce, and the black pepper dispenser on the table did not work) and Tabasco, and only because I was hungry and had to eat something. (In fairness, the Tiramisu was good.) What’s worse, there’s simply no food options on site - you can choose between burger and sandwich at Riva for lunch, or similarly limited options with room service (because no other restaurants on site serve lunch). There’s simply nothing else. On day 1 we had to have the afternoon tea set during lunch time because there’s no good options, and only because the staff was kind enough to let us order that before tea time. Service is otherwise subpar - I raised my hand for minutes before I actually get service at the restaurant - an unpleasant surprise for a supposedly luxury hotel in Japan. Even though I’m still staying at the property, I actually just booked tomorrow’s lunch at Halekulani (this is why I’m on Google maps and decided to write a review, which I’m also posting here), where we stayed previously - I simply cannot take another meal at this hotel. Oh and, the only hotel pool is mosquito-infested as the sun sets because of all the lights they put up - fine during the day though. They will drive you to nearby beaches, but the concierge just don’t know the area well enough - we were dropped off at a beach that’s closed by the time we were dropped off (to be fair it was 6pm but we were hoping to see the sunset and asked for recommendation) and had to call our own uber back because they don’t pick you up after 7pm. Please do yourself a favour and book Halekulani or Busena Terrace if you’d like to stay in the area.

Let me tell you about the hotel that saved our honeymoon and left us completely speechless. We had originally booked elsewhere in Okinawa. I will not name names, but the experience at the other hotel was so far below expectations that after just one night, we looked at each other and said: we are not spending our honeymoon here. So we packed our bags and walked next door to the Ritz-Carlton Okinawa. And that decision changed everything. From the second we stepped through those doors, we knew we were somewhere different. Somewhere special. Hitomi Adachi and the team did not just check us in. They welcomed us. They found out it was our honeymoon and from that moment on, every single interaction felt personal, warm, and genuinely thoughtful. This is not the kind of service you can train people to fake. This is a team that actually cares, and it shows in every detail. The room was breathtaking. The kind of room you do not want to leave in the morning. The kind of room you talk about for years. The views, the space, the quality of everything around you, it all felt considered and intentional. The location is stunning. Okinawa itself is paradise, but the Ritz sits within it in a way that feels effortless. The amenities matched everything else: impeccable, generous, and exactly what a honeymoon should feel like. We arrived disappointed. We left completely in love, not just with each other, but with this hotel, this team, and this island. The Ritz-Carlton Okinawa did not just meet our expectations. It reset them entirely. If you are celebrating something that matters, if you want to feel like a guest rather than a room number, if you want the kind of hospitality that you will still be talking about years from now, book this hotel. Do not hesitate. Do not look anywhere else. We will be back. That is not a hope. That is a promise.

We stayed at The Ritz-Carlton, Okinawa for my wife's birthday and it was one of the most memorable hotel experiences we have had. Anushka and Susanna deserve special recognition. They went out of their way to make our visit feel personal. The birthday touches they arranged were not generic hotel gestures. They were thoughtful, carefully timed, and genuinely warm. Every detail felt considered. They turned what was already a special trip into something my wife will remember for a long time. The property itself is beautiful, but it is the people who make a place like this worth returning to. Anushka and Susanna are exactly that. We left feeling looked after in a way that is rare, even at this level. Thank you both.

We have stayed at many luxury hotels around the world, but The Ritz-Carlton, Okinawa truly stands out as one of the very best. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the hotel’s stunning beauty — a perfect and elegant blend of traditional Japanese architecture with modern, sophisticated touches that made every corner feel both calming and special. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and warm. What impressed us most was how genuinely kind everyone was to our 1-year-old daughter — they went out of their way to make her feel welcome and comfortable. It turned our family trip into something truly magical. The food was outstanding, with delicious options that highlighted the best of Okinawan and Japanese flavors. Yoori-san (a wonderful staff member) personally made sure our entire stay was nothing short of perfect — her care and professionalism made all the difference. We were so impressed that we’ve already decided to make The Ritz-Carlton, Okinawa our annual family destination. The nearby beaches are absolutely jaw-dropping, and the local restaurants serving amazing Japanese, Okinawan, and even Hawaiian-inspired dishes added another layer of delight to our trip. We cannot say enough good things about this place. It’s not just a hotel — it’s a true sanctuary for relaxation and cherished family memories. We’re already counting the days until we return. Thank you to the entire team for creating such an unforgettable experience! See you very soon!

The Ritz-Carlton, as always, delivers, but for me it’s not all about the place; it’s the people, and Okinawa was truly an experience in that regard. We came during the off-season, and the resort was relatively low on staff. Two particular staff members interacted with us daily and made our experience memorable and personable. Emma and Sushant went above and beyond their duties, personally and professionally educating us on local history, culture, and connecting with us personally. I hope this resort recognizes and appreciates what skilled and diligent employees they have. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so memorable, and I look forward to coming back.
