Which area should I stay in in Osaka?

Stay in Namba for the liveliest food and nightlife, with Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi nearby; it suits first-timers who want to be in the action. Umeda is the transport hub, great for business travelers and easy rail access, with hotels like Conrad Osaka and Hotel Hankyu RESPIRE OSAKA. Shin-Osaka is convenient for shinkansen trips, though less atmospheric for sightseeing.

What are the must-see attractions in Osaka?

Osaka Castle is the city's iconic landmark, with its historic keep and surrounding park. Dotonbori is the lively canal-side district famous for its neon signs and street food. Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is one of the world's largest aquariums, featuring a giant Pacific octopus. Umeda Sky Building offers a unique observation deck with panoramic city views. Tsutenkaku is a classic tower with a retro vibe and observation platform.

What day trips can I take from Osaka?

From Osaka, you can take full-day tours to Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, and Miyajima. Kyoto offers temples and shrines like Fushimi Inari and Kinkaku-ji, while Nara is known for its park with friendly deer. Hiroshima and Miyajima feature the Peace Memorial and the floating torii gate. Amanohashidate, a scenic sandbar, is also reachable on a day trip.

How many days do I need in Osaka?

Plan 3 days in Osaka: day one for Osaka Castle and its park, day two for Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi, and day three for Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan and the Umeda Sky Building. Add a fourth day if you want a day trip to Kyoto or Nara, which are covered by full-day tours from the city. This gives you a relaxed pace without rushing.
