Hi Georgi, Thank you for sharing your feedback following your family stay with us. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our convenient location close to the city center, the variety offered at breakfast, and the overall value of your stay. It's also great to know that you found the hotel quiet and family-friendly. We appreciate your comments regarding the room size and parking facilities. While our rooms are designed to provide all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay, we understand that space preferences can vary. We also acknowledge your feedback about the limited parking area in front of the hotel and the cost of parking in the nearby Anker Garasje. Thank you again for your review. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you and your family back to Anker Hotel on a future visit to Oslo. Kind regards, Anker Hotel team

Response from the property
Hi Rune, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review and recommendation. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our central location, found the hotel modern and good value for money, and appreciated our comfortable beds, breakfast, friendly bar, and the possibility to open the windows. It's also wonderful to know that you would recommend our hotel to other travellers. At the same time, we understand your comments regarding street noise and the surroundings of the area. As a city-centre hotel, we are occasionally affected by activity in the neighbourhood and traffic-related noise. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the lack of a fridge and coffee machine in the room, as guest feedback helps us evaluate potential improvements to our facilities. Thank you once again for your honest feedback. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Anker Hotel on a future visit to Oslo. Kind regards, The Anker Hotel team
For dining, the hotel has its own restaurant, cafe, snack bar, and lobby bar. Nearby in Grünerløkka, you can try Bistro Fourrage at Storgata 97 for French-inspired Norwegian dishes, Haus Di Gusto on Hausmanns gate for Italian-Nordic flavors, and Südøst on Trondheimsveien for Thai food. These are all within walking distance. The hotel's Arco Bar & Lounge also serves refreshments and snacks if you prefer to stay in.
The hotel sits in Grünerløkka, a lively district packed with shops, restaurants, and bars, with the Akerselva River right by the door. Oslo Cathedral is a 10-minute walk, the Opera House 15 minutes, and the Historical Museum and Munch are each 16 minutes away. Concert venues like Oslo Spektrum, Sentrum Scene, and Rockefeller are just a few minutes' walk. The main street Karl Johan is under 15 minutes on foot, and Grønland Metro Station is nearby for getting further afield. It's a convenient, walkable base with plenty of local life around you.
From Oslo Central Station, the closest train station, you can walk about 7 to 10 minutes to the hotel, or take tram 11, 12, 17, or 18 to Nybrua, a 4-minute ride. From Oslo Airport Gardermoen, take the Airport Express Train or VY local train to Oslo Central Station, about 20 minutes, then follow the same tram or walking route. The Grønland Metro Station is also nearby. A taxi from the central station takes about 2 minutes. The hotel is on Storgata 55, visible from the Nybrua tram stop.
In the evening, you can relax at the hotel's own bar, cafe, and lobby bar, which offer drinks and snacks. The surrounding Grünerløkka district is known for its many bars and restaurants, all within easy walking distance. Concert venues like Oslo Spektrum, Sentrum Scene, and Rockefeller are just a few minutes' walk away. For a cultural evening, the Oslo Opera House is a 15-minute walk, and the Munch museum is a 16-minute walk. You could also join a guided food tour with tastings to explore the local dining scene.
Anker Hotel is a solid base for exploring Oslo on foot. You can walk to Oslo Cathedral in 10 minutes, the Oslo Opera House in 15, and the Historical Museum, Munch, and Akershus Fortress in 16 to 20 minutes. The National Museum is a 22-minute walk, while Frogner Park and Vigeland Park are about 3 km away, so plan a tram or bus ride for those. The hotel sits in Grünerløkka, close to shops, restaurants, and bars, and Grønland Metro Station is nearby for longer trips. With most central sights within a short stroll, you will save time getting around.
