You can eat well without going far. The hotel's own Bristol Grill serves seasonal Norwegian and international dishes, and the Bristol Pub offers homemade smash burgers. Right on your street, Nordvegan is a one-minute walk away, and Kaffistova is a two-minute walk for traditional Norwegian home-style cooking. Elias Mat & Sånt is in the same block, and Olivia Eger on Karl Johans gate is a five-minute walk for Italian. For a longer stroll, Mathallen Oslo, an indoor food market, is a 20-minute walk away.
The hotel sits in the heart of Oslo, on a quiet street just off the main pedestrian boulevard Karl Johans gate. You are within a short walk of the Royal Palace, the Storting parliament, and the National Theatre, with the National Museum nine minutes away and Akershus Fortress an eleven-minute stroll. The area is filled with shops, from the Karl Johans gate boutiques to the Oslo City mall and department stores like Steen & Strøm. The hotel's own Bristol Grill and Bristol Pub are right there, and the surrounding blocks are dotted with cafés and restaurants. The Stortinget metro and Tinghuset tram stops are close by, making it easy to reach further neighborhoods.
From Oslo Gardermoen Airport, take the Flybussen Airport Express coach lines 2 or 5 to Professor Aschehougs plass, a one-minute walk from the hotel. From Oslo Central Station, it is a ten-minute walk. The Stortinget metro station is three minutes away, and the Tinghuset tram stop is just a minute from the hotel, so you can also connect easily from the station. Nationaltheatret station is also a ten-minute walk. If you prefer, a taxi or ride-hailing service can drop you right at the main entrance on Kristian IVs gate 7.
In the evening, you can start at the hotel's own Bristol Bar or Bristol Pub, which serves homemade smash burgers. The Norwegian Theatre is right opposite, and the National Theatre, Oslo Nye Teater, Folketeatret, and the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet are all within a 1.2 km radius. For a relaxed evening, the Historical Museum is a 3-minute walk, and Akershus Fortress is 11 minutes away. You could also join the Guided Sightseeing Cruise on Oslofjord or the Oslo Discovery Tour for a different evening perspective.
Hotel Bristol is an excellent base for exploring Oslo, with many key sights within a short walk. The Historical Museum is a 3-minute walk away, Oslo Cathedral is 6 minutes, and the National Museum is 9 minutes. Akershus Fortress is an 11-minute walk, and the Oslo Opera House is 15 minutes away. For the Munch museum, it's a 17-minute walk. Frogner Park and Vigeland Park are further out at 2.0 km and 2.5 km, so you'll want to use the nearby Stortinget metro or Tinghuset tram for those. The central location makes it easy to set out in any direction.
