Book it if there are places available! Everyone is used to their own level of comfort, of course, but for the money this is the best service and quality. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and responsive. Perfect location — there’s a supermarket nearby with all the food you need, the tower is a 20-minute walk away, and the metro is just 2 minutes away. Go for it!

We had a very serious safety incident during our stay. Late at night, around 10:40 PM, a hotel staff member aggressively pounded on our room door and demanded that we open it. He did not clearly explain the reason, and we felt unsafe. The situation became worse when he used a hotel key and attempted to open our occupied room while we were inside. We had to physically hold the door shut and call the police. The police came to the hotel and told us that forcing entry into an occupied guest room in this way was illegal. The hotel later claimed there was a water leak downstairs and that they needed to check our room. Even if there was a maintenance issue, this does not justify aggressively pounding on a guest’s door late at night, failing to clearly explain the situation, and attempting to enter the room without consent. This was extremely frightening and unacceptable. We no longer felt safe staying at the property and had to check out. I would not recommend this hotel to travelers who care about safety, privacy, and professional hotel management.

Hôtel Beaugrenelle Saint-Charles is perfectly located in a beautiful part of the city, with easy access to the metro and plenty of great bakeries, bars, and restaurants nearby. The rooms were spotless and the service was outstanding. I only regret not taking any photos. The smoking and lounge area is also exceptionally nice.

location was superb- just 1min walk from the exit of Charles Michels station. there are 2 bakeries nearby, and many eateries. 6-7min walk away is a shopping centre and galeries lafayette. there is a monoprix which is pretty nice to walk ard too. outside the hotel you can catch a glimpse of the eiffel tower!!! the tower is abt 20min walk away. along the way you will also encounter other eateries and a couple of supermarkets. recommended for the location! we got a room on the 6th floor, which came with a balcony! toilet was pretty small but sufficient. room does not have a fridge or kettle, and lack space for larger baggages. we only had 2 small cabin sized bags so it was still manageable. the walls are thin too; i can hear the next room having a conversation pretty clearly.

TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE: Illegal Break-In Attempt by Aggressive Hotel Staff We suffered severe mental trauma during our stay that made us feel no longer safe and fleed this hotel earlier than planned. I strongly WARN anyone AGAINST staying here if you value your personal safety, privacy, and basic human rights. During our stay, an unidentified man violently pounded on our door, aggressively demanding entry close to midnight. Of course we hesitated to open it, trying to communicate through the door first. Due to his limited English, the only phrase he repeated was "Reception, open the door please," utterly failing to provide any explanation. Rather than utilising a simple translation app to bridge the communication gap, he continuously and aggressively punched our door. Ironically, this hotel has advertised that English is spoken at reception. As two female guests who had just showered and were not even fully dressed, we felt incredibly vulnerable and terrified by this aggressive behavior. We repeatedly asked why he needed to enter and warned we will call police , but he resorted to insults, and yelled at us “Are you crazy?” The nightmare escalated into a completely unlawful act when he returned with a hotel master key and attempted to force his way into our room without our consent. Adding to our absolute panic, the hotel room doors do not even have internal security locks or deadbolts. We had to physically push the door together with our own bodies desperately while we waiting for the police. It was only when the police arrived that we discovered this aggressive person was actually the night receptionist, and that there was a water leak from our room to the lobby downstairs. However, this DOES NOT justify the violent pounding, refusal to communicate, verbal insults, threats, and attempting to break in. Also I believe this is not how an incident should be handled by a professional hotel staff. He didn't try to explain this situation and try change our room first before he wants to come in to two females guest's room around midnight. Shockingly, in our subsequent email correspondence, the hotel management attempted to excuse his actions. They claimed the night staff was acting "within the scope of his duties" to limit property damage, blatantly dismissing this terrifying ordeal as a mere "lack of professionalism." I am absolutely appalled that a legitimate hotel would make excuses this after being shown video evidence of this terrifying incident. Forcing entry into a guest's room without consent is ILLEGAL in any countries !!!! Even the responding police officers acknowledged that the receptionist's behavior was grounds for arrest. It leaves me wondering if this hotel actually has any sort of comprehension of French law or even basic common sense of protecting guest's safety. The receptionist's aggression and illegal actions were abhorrent and have severely impacted our mental well-being and the remainder of our travel plans. Even after leaving Paris, we are haunted by the sheer panic of someone breaking into our room. We never want to return to France because of the mental trauma caused by this hotel.

For the price we paid for this hotel, it matched our expectations and was ideal as we wanted to explore the city. The location of the hotel is perfect, it’s very close to metro lines (a walkable distance). It’s also very close to some shops. The room itself was very small, and we did get upgraded. We didn’t mind this as we weren’t going to be in the room for long at all. We did have some issues though, the walls are paper thin. We got back after a long day in the city, and couldn’t sleep because the people staying in the room next to us were arguing and shouting all night. The hairdryer in our room also didn’t work properly, it was stuck on a certain setting and you couldn’t change it. A minor issue is that there weren’t ‘basic necessities’ you’d expect in a room. For example, there was no hook to put coats or jackets on, or anywhere to dry wet towels. Again not a major thing, but when the room is very small anyway it makes it harder to find a place for everything. The lock for the door is also strange because you can’t tell if it is locked or not, there’s no physical lock on the inside. The room was clean, and beds were made daily. We had body wash provided, and plenty of towels. Only slight issue is the rubbish we had in the room wasn’t taken until our second day there. For the price we paid though, our experience in this hotel was what we expected. Especially because we were only here at night, it ‘did the job’. The receptionist was also very helpful in showing us how to use the metro and what train to take. I definitely recommend this hotel if you are going to be exploring the city and only coming back at night.

I purposely chose a hotel in a residential area in Paris that would not be too commercial. This location was also ideal for Metro travel access to Roland Garros stadium as I went to watch the tennis matches. The rooms are small but cozy and have air conditioning. I happen to be n Pars during the weeklong heatwave. I did not use the hotel breakfast as I preferred to grab my morning coffee and croissant from a nearby Boulangerie. Also, there is a small food market across the street from the hotel which was convenient. Lots of cafes and restaurants within 5-minute walking distance of the hotel without the tourist hustle found in other areas of Paris. I will want to stay here again on my return visit to Paris.

Let me detail it for you. A small charming hotel with rooms that fit you and your bag and stuff, no need for more. I love the old elevator and the couch that says this lobby has witnessed a decade of visitors. I'd come here again for the location (metro) and the walking distance to Eiffel tower.
