Great location, extremely comfy beds, lovely rooftop terrace for a sundowner. The hotel made us feel really special with a thoughtful note and bottle of fizz and local honey. The shower was massive. Quirky artwork all around and a great breakfast selection. Lovely and cool everywhere despite the hot summer sun. Nice staff and discounted parking for the main garage.

We spent two nights here and overall had a really great stay The Highlights: Location & Views: Absolutely fantastic location right in the heart of town. It made exploring so easy, and we loved having a nice view of the sea from our room. The Rooftop: Gorgeous 360-degree views. It’s lovely during the day, but truly spectacular in the evening when you can see the whole town lit up. Staff & Breakfast: The staff were incredibly helpful, warm, and a total pleasure to interact with. The breakfast buffet was standard but very tasty, served in a beautiful, sunlit dining area where you can choose between the temperature-controlled indoor room or sitting straight outside in the fresh air. Decor: The rooms feature nice, modern decor with interesting artwork throughout the property, and they provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Areas for Improvement: The only drawback was a slight lack of attention to detail regarding maintenance and the recent remodel. The wall material and paint at the bottom of the bathroom door jambs was bubbling and peeling away on both sides. Additionally, some of the tile work felt a bit rushed—almost like they tiled over old tile and cut holes for fixtures and outlets. In the shower, there was an open hole around a fixture that completely lacked caulking. If half-stars were allowed, this would easily be a 4.5/5. Because of the minor deferred maintenance, I'm rating it a solid 4 stars. The incredible location, rooftop, and wonderful staff still make it a place I'd highly recommend!

Unpleasant reception experience at departure. This was our last day in the whole of Slovenia. We encountered excellent staff and loved the people. However, the lady at reception (Hannah) was extremely rude, arrogant, nor even smiling. We got a little delayed with our checkout and she told us for the slight delay beyond 11am we will be charged 60 euros per room! We had booked two rooms. Nothing of this sort was informed to us at the time of checkin. We requested a lot and the lady at the reception continued to dodge our question when we requested to speak to the manager. We loved the hotel and the lady at the reception who welcomed us but this experience has left us extremely disappointed by Piran. We hope someone reaches out to us to address this in the absence of the hotel manage at our departure.

Perfect place to relax in the heart of Piran. Our room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable for our 2 night stay. Their receptionists (I did not catch their names) were incredibly helpful providing details prior to arriving to the hotel and very friendly upon each interaction. The breakfast was also perfect each morning with a good amount of options. We would definitely recommend and return

Loved this hotel and would happily recommend it — great for solo travelers or couples alike — though a few maintenance issues kept it from a perfect score. Location: Unbeatable. Right on the central square, but close enough to the water that I still got sea views — genuinely the best of both worlds. Overall: Beautiful boutique property — murals, artwork, spiral staircases, quotes painted on the walls like graffiti. Every corner felt intentional. Rooms were simple but well appointed and everything was comfy enough by hotel standards. Air conditioning kept the room nice and cool, and the presence of a well functioning elevator was a lifesaver after a day out in the heat with bags. Staff: Genuinely lovely — friendly, warm, and willing to go the extra mile. They’d make me a proper coffee to order from the fancy machine, and even brought me cold water with ice for my bottle before I headed out for the day. Small gestures that made a real difference. Breakfast: I don’t understand some of negative reviews on this. It’s a buffet-style breakfast included with the room, and honestly it was top-notch for what I’d expect from that: cereal/yogurt station with muesli and granola, scrambled eggs (plain or with vegetables), sausage, bacon, pancakes, hard-boiled eggs, toast, pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, olives, tomato-mozzarella salad, nuts, fresh fruit, juices, and cold veggies. There’s a coffee machine, but staff will make you a proper coffee/latte/cappuccino to order from the fancy one if you ask. It also had great hours (7-10) and I could take a late seating and not need to get lunch there was so much food. Hard to imagine wanting more. Where it fell short: My room didn’t feel fully ready on arrival — a used towel in the bathroom, and an unwashed-looking shower floor (also very messy and grimy looking caulking that was really out of place in an otherwise lovely room). None of this would have affected my rating on its own — these things happen (and perhaps the best thing is how things are done in these parts, I’ve just never experienced that). The real issue was a mechanical/electrical buzzing noise from what I assume was an A/C or plumbing pump in the bathroom. It went off every 15 minutes at first, then every 7, then every 5, and made it very hard to sleep. I flagged the maintenance issue several times. One staff member sat in the room to hear it herself and was visibly startled by it, but between a shift change, some confusion about what the actual problem was, and maintenance not having the right parts (or possibly not looking at it properly at all), it never got resolved during my stay. This also doesn’t seem to be an isolated incident as other reviews mention similar maintenance/upkeep problems, so it may be worth the hotel looking into more systematically. Staff were apologetic and did try, but the only fix offered was earplugs, which don’t work for me. I had to ask them to check if there was a possibility for a room change rather than have it offered (sadly there wasn’t), and I’d have appreciated even a small gesture — a late checkout, a drink, something — given how disruptive it was. That would have changed how I felt walking away from an otherwise lovely stay. Bottom line: A genuinely charming hotel with excellent staff and a fantastic breakfast, let down by maintenance follow-through. If they tighten up room readiness between guests and handle maintenance and upkeep faster and more proactively, this is easily a 5-star review. Regardless, I’d stay again if I ever come back to Piran.

Amazing hotel, located at the very town square. Unique and artsy, the walls are adorned with local artists’ paintings (or so does their booklet say!). The staff is very friendly, which also adds to the hotel’s unpretentious atmosphere. Food is to sie for. I’ve stayed in room 101 with my husband for 1 night and we mostly loved it. That being said, there’s one thing that Art Hotel seems to suffer from… It’s that horrible disease which attacks hotels’ showers. Mainly - there’s no fricking door that would actually protect the test of the bathroom from water. Seriously, why…? Other than that - 10/10 experience!

Staff were great. Excellent safe bike storage with tools. We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the harbour. The room was a bit basic ie 1 electric socket so you either plugged in a phone to re-charge, the kettle for a brew or the fridge. Small thing but other hotels on our trip seemed to have USB ports and lots of sockets. Good location. Right on the square.
