Dear Les, Thank you so much for your incredible review. Reading comments like yours truly means the world to our entire team. We are absolutely delighted that you chose to stay with us after 13 years of visiting Port Douglas, and even more thrilled to hear that it won't be your last. Knowing that our team made you feel so welcome—from Reception through to Housekeeping—is the highest compliment we could receive. We're pleased you found your apartment to be a relaxing oasis despite the wet and windy weather. We'd also like to sincerely thank you for your understanding regarding the air conditioning issue. We truly appreciate your patience, and we're glad our team was able to make up for the inconvenience with a small cheese platter. Your kind words about our housekeeping team will certainly be shared with them—they take great pride in delivering spotless accommodation and will be delighted to know their efforts were appreciated. We're also delighted you enjoyed our prime location, undercover access, high-speed Wi-Fi, and the convenience of being just a short stroll from both the beach and Macrossan Street. As our apartments are individually owned, each one has its own unique style, furnishings, and features, making every stay a little different. Thank you again for your thoughtful recommendation. We can't wait to welcome you back for another relaxing stay with us in Port Douglas! Warm regards, Donnie Hernandez General Manager

Response from the property

Dear Cody, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our central location and were able to take advantage of being within easy walking distance of the restaurants, shops and beautiful Four Mile Beach. That said, I am genuinely sorry to learn that your arrival experience was frustrating and that the after-hours check-in instructions were not as clear as they should have been. Arriving at your holiday destination should be simple and stress-free, and I apologise that this was not your experience. After reviewing our records, I can confirm that an SMS containing the after-hours arrival instructions was sent at 3:51pm on Friday to the mobile number ending in 809 that was provided with the booking. We understand that technology does not always work as expected, and if the message was not received, we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. We would be more than happy to email you a screenshot of the transmission record should you wish to see it. I also appreciate your comments regarding staff presence at the resort. As a small resort-style property, it is unfortunately not viable for us to operate a 24-hour reception desk. However, we do have an after-hours support service and an on-call team member available onsite to assist guests with urgent matters outside reception hours. While this differs from the service model of a larger full-service hotel, we certainly never want our guests to feel unsupported during their stay. Thank you again for your honest feedback. We truly value comments such as yours as they help us identify opportunities to improve both our communication and guest experience. I hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back to Port Douglas in the future and provide you with a much smoother arrival experience.
