We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everything was excellent,from the comfortable room and delicious breakfast to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The entire staff was incredibly kind, professional, and always happy to help with a smile. A very special thank you to (Isabel) , who was exceptionally friendly, caring, and made us feel truly welcome throughout our stay. Her kindness made our visit even more memorable. Thank you to the whole team for making our trip to Porto so enjoyable. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our family and friends, and we hope to come back again in the future. The hotel was centrally located and housed in a charming, authentic building, but unfortunately it had so many shortcomings. First of all, the breakfast was terrible. There were no tomatoes, boiled eggs, or cucumbers available. There were also no fruit yogurt options at all; they simply seemed to have mixed a few ingredients into plain yogurt and called it a day. When I asked for a boiled egg, I was told it would cost an extra €5. At one point, I filled a cup with hot water and found an insect inside it. In addition, we had booked a two-story family room, and the toilet flush upstairs was not working properly. Basic amenities such as toothpaste and cotton swabs were not provided in our room. I also informed the reception that the room telephone was not working and that we could not contact the front desk. They said they would look into it immediately and appeared to make a note of it, but nothing was ever done, even though we stayed for three nights. Overall, this is a very average hotel that only seems appealing because of its location. Believe me, there are many much better hotels available in the area.

We’ve come to Port on our honeymoon and it’s amazing. This hotel is fantastic and the staff are incredible. We left our bags before check in and when we got back to check in they had already sent them up for us. They helped us with restaurant reservations and when we had to come back to follow up something with another staff member they had already arranged it. Great communication and a beautiful hotel. The bar is beautiful and the bartender Mike is excellent. We feel like we’ve had our own masterclass with him, teaching us about mixology and the local drinks and history. So much knowledge and very interesting. We are still here and planning our next visit!

This is indeed a charming hotel in a fantastic location close to shopping and dining and walkable to most tourist attractions. We loved staying there. Well appointed rooms with comfortable beds, plenty of power sockets and good lighting, neat, modern bathrooms and openable windows. I also loved the antique style light switches. The breakfast spread was good and sufficient even for vegetarians. Rideshare comes to the corner of the street, not too far from the hotel. Note that the streets and sidewalks are all paved with little tiles (most of the city is like that) so make sure the suitcases can handle that. Definitely the perfect place to stay if you are visiting Porto.

My stay at Grande Hotel do Porto in Porto was truly wonderful. I fell in love with the beautiful historic architecture of the hotel—it gives the place so much character and charm. The reception team was warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. A special mention to the bellboy and the bartender, who were incredibly kind and helpful, going far beyond expectations to make our stay even more enjoyable.The breakfast was excellent, especially the delicious Pastéis de Nata, which was the perfect way to start the morning. Everything about the experience felt memorable and comfortable. I will definitely book here again on my next visit to Porto! Highly recommended 😊

I travelled a lot in more than 20 countries, and I have never seen such a beautiful hotel! Beauty, kindness and charme are the key words for this hotel. A particular thank to Gaye from the reception for her professionalism! Everybody was nice, helpful and kind especially with our children. The family room is very beautiful and bigger than it looks from the picture. Everything is old but renovated in excellent conditions. Would come back for sure!

This was our first time to Porto and we couldn't have got a better location as right in the middle of a shopping street near the Majestic Cafe and a short walk to the train station, which was great for the airport. Beautiful old hotel full of character. We stayed a week for B&B which was to our liking but maybe not a great selection for everyone. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Spacious room and spotless, daily room service . Very comfortable bed but have to say pillows like rocks! Would say not a great wifi service in the bedrooms. The only other criticism of the room was squeaky floor boards, hard not to make a noise going to the bathroom in the middle of the night! Would not hesitate to stay there again, we really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful hotel. Front lady was very nice got hammered after we cam in and kept her smile . Jose the doorman very kind and pleasure to see walking in the front door. Would give 5 stars but the floors were super creaky. Maybe that’s with the age of hotel but when sleeping and someone walking above got lil noisy early morning . Other than that great location . Breakfast room is huge and it’s a buffet with a decent amount of options more snack foods for morning. Nice bar area to drink in comfort of hotel
