Stayed for a couple of nights and had a wonderful experience overall. The hotel offers a well-equipped gym and a relaxing spa, making it easy to stay active and unwind during the stay. One of the highlights was the dinner buffet, which featured a great selection of fresh seafood. Breakfast was equally impressive, with plenty of choices each morning. I especially loved the onsen eggs—they quickly became part of my daily breakfast routine. The room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully prepared. We were welcomed with a themed plate of chocolates, which was a nice touch that made us feel appreciated. The service was good throughout our stay, and the location is very convenient, close to the mall and the pier, with great views. There’s also a jogging path along the docks less than 500 meters away, near the naval display area, which was a nice bonus. My only minor issue was with the air conditioning in our first room. The staff provided a fan and were able to move us to another room the following day once one became available, as the hotel was fully booked due to an ongoing convention. I only wish the air conditioning hadn’t had any issues in the first place, but the team handled the situation as best they could. Overall, the hotel offers excellent value for money. Great food, comfortable rooms, thoughtful details, and a convenient location made for a very enjoyable stay. I would happily stay here again.

TL;DR: Fantastic location, great facilities and service, but the Meituan situation was the biggest surprise of the stay. Stayed here during my trip to Qingdao and the location is honestly hard to beat. Everything is within a short 5-minute walk — from delicious 重庆小面 and seafood restaurants to the nearby The MixC Qingdao, which is perfect if you feel like doing some shopping (though I’d say it’s more of an upscale mall). The hotel itself is comfortable, but some parts of the property do feel a little dated. From what I know, Shangri-La has a newer wing/building as well, so it’s worth checking which room type or tower you’re booking before confirming your stay. One thing I really enjoyed was the gym and wellness facilities. The gym was fantastic and easy to access, and despite the setup looking a little old, everything was well-maintained. The sauna and jacuzzi were great after a long day of exploring, and the indoor pool was also a really nice touch. The biggest surprise for me, however, was the food delivery situation. I’ve been to China quite a few times and almost every hotel I’ve stayed in either allows Meituan deliveries to your room door or has robots that bring your food upstairs. Here, because of the lift access card policy, all deliveries have to be collected either at the lobby or from the delivery lockers outside the hotel. To make things worse (or funnier 😂), this was my first time encountering such a setup. Since I don’t have a China number, I couldn’t contact the rider and genuinely thought my dinner had gone missing. Thankfully, the receptionist was incredibly kind and helped me call the delivery guy to figure out where my food had ended up. Overall, I would happily stay here again because the location is just that convenient, the facilities are still solid, and the service was excellent throughout my stay. But as someone who practically survives on Meituan whenever I’m in China, the whole “go downstairs and hunt for your food” situation was a little off-putting. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely something to note if you’re a fellow food delivery addict like me!

We got a car accident in Qingdao via didi. Hotel staff is super helpful. They help us call police to report an accident which we finally got medical claim from Chinese Car insurance. York Duty manager is very active in helping us coordinate wt police. Nick concierge is very hospitable and helpful to help us by medicine and medical aid online. Highly recommend this hotel for their great service. Good location next to MRT and Mixc mall
