Qingdao was my first port of call on a month-long odyssey across China. Since this was our first visit we decided to make use of our Bonvoy status and, as always, it pays dividends. This was an excellent stay, not least because we were upgraded to a suite which turned out to be one of the best hotel rooms I have stayed in for many a year. The location is great, affording easy access to the harbour and the bustling areas around. The staff were friendly and spoke English to more than an acceptable level for those of us who speak little to no Chinese. We were checked in efficiently and were on our way to our room without undue delay or fuss. As I mentioned, the room was outstanding. Floor to ceiling windows, and large bathroom with walk in shower and massive tub, which is something I love to see and whilst ubiquitous in China, is rare in many other parts of the World. Especially, unfortunately, in the US. We were here visiting friends and were out and about most days, and our stay was unfortunately only one of a couple of nights so I am unable to comment with any authority on some of the other facilities here. However we found both the breakfast service (massive choice of both western and chinese dishes) and the M club to be perfectly pitched for this style and level of hotel. It is still a thrill to have deliveries and items delivered to one's room by robot as well. Seeing them zipping about the hotel, in and out of elevators etc. was one of the unexpected treasures of our trip! I would definitely recommend staying here. Obviously, if you have status or wish to pay for an upgraded room that helps, but overall the stay was first class and got our trip to China off to a great start

As a titanium member, I was upgraded to the beautiful two-room suite, 2117. I would usually rate my 4 day stay at a 5, but two issues prevented me from doing so. First, upon entering the room, I was hit with a strong smoke smell. It seemed like a previous guest had smoked in this non-smoking room. My second issue was with the executive lounge. At happy hour, the window tables fill up quickly. One table was reserved for 5:30 pm, but when I complained at 6:23 pm, the guests hadn’t arrived yet. They finally showed up at 6:28 pm, 58 minutes late. To make matters worse, they had two tables by the windows. Given these problems, I’ve reduced my rating to 4.

We checked into the Westin Hotel in Qingdao. We are very grateful to Kimi for helping us with the check-in procedures. The family suite is spacious and is not far from all the popular attractions. The transportation is convenient, and it's just a short walk to the subway station. The parking is also free. Everything is very convenient. We highly recommend staying here. Let's also praise Kimi. The service is really warm.

1 star out of 5 - I’m giving one star to the housekeeping aunty who cleaned my room. Her level of service and attitude should be an example to all Westin Qingdao staff. I've made an official complaint and requested a refund, I paid extra for an upgrade because based on the room description on the Bonvoy website, they promised it was a "newly renovated room", the upgrade included the executive lounge access. 1. Room - very outdated, even though I thought paying for the executive floor was supposedly newly renovated - 2. Executive Lounge - overall experience is very bad - Opening hours - unlike other executive lounges, usually there is breakfast. This lounge opened between 12pm - 9pm - At 630pm (start of Happy Hour is at 530pm), they ran out of wine glasses, so I poured wine into a champagne glass (the only glass standing), which was cracked. So I had to drink red wine out of paper cup. I mean come on! 3. Food was unacceptable to Bonvoy Westin standards - Breakfast area is extremely disorganised, crowded and tongs were used for both raw and cooked items, food was very average at best, most items were not heated properly, it honestly looked like a zoo - Jan 3rd - Late night room service food ordered a club sandwich - What came was the farthest thing from a club sandwich 4. Could not find the Westin Heavenly Spa, I was directed incorrectly by your gym staff 5. Lack of Managers around and English speaking staff overall.

Hotel service was excellent, from reception to housekeeping. The deluxe room was slightly bigger than a standard room and it made a big difference in comfort. We appreciated the eye mask and extra water as we were staying four nights.The guest before us must have spilt some food on the desk - there was chilli oil on some of the desk items that housekeeping may have missed. Breakfast was just ok - most of the food was lukewarm, not as hot as I hoped.But overall a great stay, thank you.

Great stay at the hotel. The location is excellent, the room was comfortable, and the breakfast had a good variety of options.Special thanks to staff Mr. Nicky at the front desk. Nicky was professional, patient, and very friendly to our children. Hi warm and attentive service made our family feel welcome throughout the stay.We would happily stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel overall. The breakfast buffet has a great range of different foods. The hotel's location is also very convenient since it's located right before the subway station and also the MixC Mall. All the staff are nice and helpful, especially Mr. Matt Yu and Ms. Kimi Jiang.

I stayed at The Westin Qingdao for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. The swimming pool and overall facilities were excellent.I especially want to thank Kimi Jiang at the front desk for the warm hospitality and kindness. She made my stay even more enjoyable with her thoughtful service and professionalism.Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Qingdao.
