Google· a month agoThis was our first time ever staying in a hostel, and we had such an amazing experience at Stay Classy! Everything was very clean, comfortable, and well organized. I especially loved the privacy. Even the individual dorm beds had curtains, plus their own little fan and light, which made the stay so much more comfortable. They also had everything we could need, laundry facilities, a fully equipped kitchen with utensils, microwave, air fryer, and even a vanity room, which was honestly my favorite! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. A special shoutout to Vanessa, she was so sweet and welcoming. Since it was our first time in San Diego, she helped us plan our trip and gave us some amazing recommendations. Stay Classy truly lived up to its name. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend it! 💯

Google· 5 months agoToilet is lacking. Literally 2 toilets for the men’s room. No toilet seat covers, so make your own with the toilet paper. Wipe off the pubic hairs, and urains on the seats from the previous user yourself. The light goes off automatically after a few minutes. So you better pray someone will walk into bathroom or you won’t have light. Bathrooms and toilets need more consistent cleaning. Whoever design that bathroom sink needs to be fired. Your hands can barely fit in between the disgusting sink surface and the water tap. Street parking only, good luck with all surrounding homeless camping in front of your cars. Is hostel, get yourself some ear plugs. Not sure where all the bullshit 4-5 stars rating comes from. Just pay a bit more to get yourself a motel. Is just 10% more for actual privacy.

Tripadvisor· 5 months agoVery clean and not what you expect at all. Great privacy, staff are great welcoming, everyone keeps to themselves. The bums that you'll occasionally see walking by are just that, bums. Not axe murders and they're constantly on the move so don't expect the eye sores that long, you'll be ok.

Trip.com· 6 months agoGood location if you are attending events at the convention centre. Staff were friendly and communal spaces were well done. Beds are spacious and showers clean. Surrounding area is less pleasant, and overall value feels a bit high for what you get, but acceptable for a hostel stay in the US.

Google· 2 months agoI’m a few months late on this review but I stayed at Classy on several trips to SD. The owner Brandon did a great job of making his hostel a cozy modern experience for guests. I was able to study and concentrate on work in the common areas and had plenty of opportunities to socialize and go out on the town with other guests. Brandon and his team’s hospitality was tops. He always greeted me with a smile and said welcome back every night when I returned even after being there for two weeks. Alicia at the front desk keeps the place running smooth and knows where everything is and was a huge help to me on several occasions. Ricky usually worked the front desk in the morning during my stay and he made perfect coffee every day and always used the filtered water for it. He’s also a level headed guy and was helpful with the laundry and vending machines when they occasionally gobble change. The cleaning girl in college (forgot her name) was also very nice. I’ve stayed at 3 or 4 hostels in the San Diego area and Stay Classy was the cleanest and most modern. I usually slept like a baby in their pod style set up. Internet was good too! I Highly recommend this place. Thanks for everything guys!!! See you next time.

Google· 4 months agoThis was our first hostel experience, and we’d heard horror stories from friends about hostels, so we were a little nervous, but we couldn’t be happier! It’s different from traditional hostels with bunk beds; it’s a dorm room where the beds are separated by walls, and your 4th wall is a curtain in the hallway. Even though it doesn’t seem like it would, it actually blocks out sound really well — we slept great. The bathrooms are extremely well equipped and spotless, I woke up at 6am to use the bathroom and it had already been cleaned! The place smells clean and everyone was so friendly. There’s a kitchen that’s super convenient, an Albertsons right across the street, and it’s close to several attractions. I loved that outside the women’s bathroom there’s a dedicated space to get ready and do your makeup, with hair dryers, pads, and mirrors. It definitely feels like a luxury hostel.

Google· 5 months agoI really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and respectful, making check-in and the entire stay smooth. The hostel was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable, with a nice social atmosphere. The location is excellent, close to downtown, public transport, and many attractions. Overall, a great value for money and a perfect place for solo travelers. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Google· 5 months agoEven though I couldn’t stay at the hostel due to a last-minute change in plans, I still wanted to leave a positive review because the staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout the cancellation process. They responded quickly, communicated clearly, and made everything smooth and stress-free. Really appreciated their professionalism and customer support. Based on this experience alone, I would definitely consider staying here in the future!
