The MGM Grand Sanya hotel was the last of our six hotels from our trip to China. We booked the Corona Sunset Sea-view Suite - Extra-large Ocean View Terrace via trip.com. This spacious two-room suite is 130 sq m with a large 100 sq m terrace. At reception we were immediately connected on WeChat to Sheldon, a butler who speaks excellent English and some Russian. The suite, with large floor-to-ceiling windows, is fully equipped: a capsule coffee machine, a hairdryer, an ironing board, an iron, fully automatic toilets (two in our room), slippers, robes for adults and children, and toiletries, including baby toiletries. We were especially pleased with the large live indoor flowers in the room. There is a minibar. Along the entire transparent terrace railing, on the left and right, there are fresh flowers with cute blue blossoms, which creates an additional cozy atmosphere: The terrace has sun loungers, a large table with chairs, and a small table with armchairs. There's also a clothes dryer, which is very convenient. The terrace offers a beautiful view of the sea and the hotel grounds. We recommend booking this room or villa, as breakfast in these room types is served in a restaurant next to the beach overlooking the sea. This restaurant offers both a buffet and an à la carte menu. Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. There weren't many guests at breakfast in this restaurant. We also had breakfast in the main restaurant, but we really enjoyed the breakfast and service in this restaurant near the beach. The sea was excellent; there were some waves, but we swam. There were always sun loungers available by the sea. The hotel is large, with many children. Generally, the hotel is geared toward families with children, as there are plenty of activities for children. Some might find it noisy, but our room with a terrace was peaceful and quiet. Our booking package included a photo shoot, and we loved the photos – they were truly professional and beautiful. We want to say a big thank you to our butler, Sheldon, who was always available, answered all our questions, and made our stay even more comfortable. Upon check-in we encountered several cleaning issues, which Sheldon promptly resolved, for which we are very grateful. We have only positive impressions from my stay at this hotel!

It was a layover day in Sanya so we wanted to have some rest before a long flight. The room on the 3rd floor was spacious and quite clean, with a great view in the night and day, but the interior needs a renovation. I wanted to take a bath after a flight, but the bathtub needed a deep clean and overall was a little rusty on the outside so I couldn’t. It was the only drawback though, other than that the cleanliness was great, the maids were very nice and friendly. The room had everything for parents and a baby, so I noted that for the future to travel with my family. Special thank you to the manager Rustamov Sheldon for being in touch not only during the stay, but also after, and organising the transfer to the airport late at night - it was a big gesture of care that we highly appreciated.

The kid's swimming pool and playground are very deteriorated. Definitely not up to 5 stars hotel standards. Check in was quick and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was okay, limited options and nothing much changed on the three days we stayed. The MGM show at night was good, the kids were excited. Something we didn't understand is why the beach area in front of the hotel some days was closed by the hotel staff while other hotels kept theirs open. This forced many guests from the hotel to walk long distance to be able to swim at the beach. I don't mind to walk but not fun with small kids.

The fitness room needs an urgent update, seems all cardio machines have issues or directly are not working properly. Related the rooms, also need some upgrade, The service is acceptable.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at MGM! Everything exceeded my expectations. The staff were truly outstanding -incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with anything I needed. They didn’t just provide service, they genuinely cared and made sure everything was smooth and comfortable throughout my stay.A special thank you to our manager, Jelly, who took care of us - she was incredible! Jelly was always in touch, helped coordinate everything perfectly, and made sure we felt completely comfortable at all times. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail truly made our experience even more special.What impressed me the most was how well the team coordinated everything. Any request I had was handled quickly and professionally, and they made me feel completely taken care of. The level of hospitality here is top-tier.The hotel itself is beautiful, the atmosphere is great, and the overall experience was just perfect. Fantastic stay at MGM Grand Sanya. The property is beautifully designed with multiple swimming pools, excellent gym facilities, and a great in-resort train that makes getting around easy. Kids loved the animal showcase, and thoughtful touches like kid-specific toiletries made family travel effortless. Staff were friendly throughout, with special credit to our service manager Rustamov Sheldon, who was attentive and constantly checked in to make sure everything was perfect. The surrounding area is also runner-friendly, with easy access to the main road for an outdoor jog. Highly recommend.

This hotel is very beautiful, we booked a room with pool and it was amazing, having access to the pool from our room was definitely the most pleasant part of our stay. There are many events taking place at different time and with the MGM show everyday, no time to get bored

Stayed at MGM second time and loved it. Friendly stuff, beautiful territory and clean rooms. Only hotel in Yalong bay with heated pools! Will definitely come back again!
