We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Monterey Edelhof Sapporo! Check-in was seamless and welcoming from the start, and the hotel is in a great, convenient location. The rooms are remarkably spacious, clean, and well-equipped with nice amenities. A major highlight was the impressive breakfast buffet, which featured a huge selection along with delicious local Hokkaido specialties. After a day of exploring, relaxing in the fantastic onsen and peaceful lounge was the perfect way to unwind. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sapporo!

The staff were amazingly responsive, welcoming and helpful! It was a joy to ask and receive help from every one of them during our stay. One of our party was sick and they helped find a clinic open on the weekends which was a huge relief for all of us! The details were meticulously attended to and we were constantly impressed by the architecture and design of all the public spaces as well as the very clean and charming rooms. The rooms were also spacious for Japan which we greatly appreciated! We had a side view of the sunset when we sat in our western style chairs and even the beds were tall enough (more like typical western height) to store 4 large suitcases under. Everyone was patient and professional even though we didn't speak Japanese. Their English was very good! We all wished we had stayed here the whole time we were in Japan!!!

We stayed at Hotel Monterey Edelhof Sapporo for 16 nights, and it turned out to be an excellent home base for our trip. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable throughout the stay. For a long visit, the laundromat on the first floor was incredibly convenient and made day‑to‑day life much easier. We also made frequent use of the onsen, which became one of our favorite parts of the hotel. It was relaxing, well‑maintained, and a perfect way to unwind after exploring Sapporo. But what truly made our stay memorable was Ayumi Hiraishi, who greeted us every morning at the breakfast reception. Her genuine, energetic smile made us feel welcome and set a positive tone for each day. That kind of warmth stays with you. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Monterey Edelhof for anyone visiting Sapporo—especially for longer stays where comfort, convenience, and hospitality really matter.

This hotel is an excellent base for travelers who prioritize convenience and sightseeing, though the room layout might feel a bit cramped for some. 😍​The Pros: Location & Conveniences ​Prime Location: The biggest selling point is definitely where it's situated. It is incredibly close to major shopping malls and top sightseeing spots, making it easy to explore the area on foot. ​On-Site Parking: You can reserve a parking space in the hotel’s basement ahead of time (subject to availability). While it costs 1,500 yen per night, the price is very reasonable and acceptable given how central the location is. ​Tech-Friendly: The rooms come equipped with modern USB plugs, making it very easy to charge your phones and devices without needing extra adapters. 🫣​The Cons: Space & Amenities ​Compact Rooms: The overall room size is quite small, leaving very little space to move around or open up large suitcases comfortably. ​Tight Bathing Area: The bathroom and shower/tub space is notably cramped, which might feel restrictive if you prefer a spacious setup. ​Limited Tea Options: There was only one complimentary tea option provided in the room, which was a minor letdown for a relaxing evening in. Newly added: Breakfast on the 13th floor was amazing! Sweeping views of Sapporo alongside an impressive spread—fresh sashimi, hot ramen, western pastries, and yogurt. Don't skip the self-serve soft cream; the Hokkaido milk flavor is unmatched!

We loved this hotel, great location and decent space for quadruple beds. Design a bit old and classic, but they maintain it quite well. Too bad didn't have the chance to try their breakfast. Walking distance to Sapporo TV Tower and other tourist area. Will definitely stay here again.

I have a mixed feeling regarding this round of stay, my first visit years back was great. I can't say the same for this time. We took a 7 hours overnight bus ride from Sapporo, arrived at the hotel at 6.35am. There was no one at the reception nor lobby, which is fine. We saw there was coffee and rolls served at the open area and were thinking of getting a cup of coffee after a long overnight bus ride. Then there was this old man, hotel staff, jump out from no way chasing us away saying this is only for hotel guests. This is not a Japan warm Hospitality which we used to. I think we are not your guests until we receive the room key at 3pm. We don't felt welcome

Great location to amenities and the room is spacious. Beds are comfortable too. Via limousine bus from New Chitose airport stops right in front of the hotel and going to airport is approximately 650m walking distance. Just sit back and rest instead of rushing and changing train and bus. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be my re-booking accommodation in Sapporo.
