Google· 5 months agoKempinsky hotel Shenzhen definitely doesn't live up to its 5-star claims: the rooms are outdated, the premium room overlooks trash, the furniture and appliances are 25 years old—have you seen an air conditioning control panel like this lately? Maybe from the 80s. The sauna isn't working and is filled with trash. The steam room is turned off, though they said we could turn it on, but we didn't want to go in. It must have been renovated 30 years ago. The gym is small and stuffy, and the windows are dirty. The Kempinski hotels chain is owned by the Bahrain Wealth Fund, so the Bahrain airport looks like a better place to stay overnight than this hotel. Don't disgrace the Kempinski name. Renovate the hotel or remove that sign and rename it with something like Place or Mercure. Now for the good: the location is 10 out of 10. The Shenzhen Bay area is wonderful, which is why I gave the hotel 3 stars. The surrounding area is modern, with gardens on the second level of roads for walking. There are many high-quality restaurants with any kind of food at low prices: $50 for two persons with wine and a view will be delicious. I strictly recommend restaurant Uusi in 4 minutes by walk. Nearby is a beautiful park, the sea, luxury shops, and food, food, food—try it all. The hotel itself has a beautiful lobby and a good breakfast. I wouldn't return to this hotel, but I would definitely recommend Shenzhen Bay district for a 3-4-day visit.

Tripadvisor· 2 months agoGreat location, with numerous shopping malls and restaurants within walking distance. The train station was also conveniently located right next to the hotel, making it easy to get around the city. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help with any questions or concerns during our stay. The lobby was beautiful and impressive, and the guest rooms were spacious and comfortable. A special mention goes to the housekeeping attendant on the 17th floor, who was incredibly friendly and did an outstanding job cleaning our room each day. Overall, the hotel offered excellent value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose to stay here again on a future visit to Shenzhen.

English not widely spoken by front of house staff, get your translation apps ready. Next to Shenzhen bay pedestrian street with great places to eat, massages etc. lots of families out together in the evening. Safe and quiet location.

Tripadvisor· 3 months agoI had an excellent 4-night stay at Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen. The room was spacious, elegant, immaculately clean, and exceptionally comfortable. While the hotel has a classic European design rather than a modern minimalist style, everything was very well maintained, and the bed provided a great night’s sleep after long days of meetings. The location is one of the hotel’s biggest strengths. It is just steps from Houhai Metro Station and directly beside Coastal City, with plenty of restaurants, cafés, and shopping within walking distance. Housekeeping did an outstanding job of keeping the room spotless every day. If I had one observation, it would be that some parts of the hotel reflect its long history. However, this is outweighed by the excellent maintenance, exceptional cleanliness, prime location, and timeless luxury. Overall, Kempinski Shenzhen remains an outstanding choice for anyone visiting Shenzhen, especially business travelers. I would gladly stay here again on my next visit and highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and genuine five-star hospitality.

Trip.com· 4 months agoI had a very enjoyable stay at the Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen and would gladly stay here again.The location is excellent and provides convenient access to many parts of the city. The hotel itself is comfortable, well maintained and offers the high standards one would expect from the Kempinski brand.There were a few minor issues during my stay. Upon arrival, I was initially assigned a smoking room without being asked whether I preferred a non-smoking room. After I raised the issue, the hotel promptly arranged a different room, which I appreciated.The only other point that did not fully meet my expectations was the handling of my luggage. After changing rooms, I informed the staff that I wanted to explore the city before settling in. I was under the impression that I would need to move my luggage myself, which surprised me given the standards I associate with a luxury hotel brand such as Kempinski. When I returned later, the staff noticed that my luggage was still in the room and then arranged the transfer for me. While the issue was ultimately resolved, I would have expected luggage assistance to be offered proactively from the beginning.Communication in English at the front desk could also be improved.However, what truly made this a five-star experience was the outstanding service provided by Mr. Lu Jinpeng.I wanted to try one of Shenzhen's autonomous taxis, but as a foreign visitor without a Chinese phone number, this would have been very difficult to arrange on my own. Mr. Lu Jinpeng went far beyond what I would normally expect from hotel staff. He personally helped me set everything up, accompanied me to the vehicle, explained the process and made sure everything worked correctly. Thanks to his assistance, I was able to enjoy one of the most memorable experiences of my trip to China.His kindness, patience and willingness to help left a lasting impression on me. Employees like Mr. Lu Jinpeng are a great asset to the hotel and are the reason why I am giving this stay five stars despite the minor issues mentioned above.Thank you for the excellent hospitality.

Trip.com· 7 months agoThe room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, which made the stay very convenient. The lobby was large and impressive, creating a great first impression of the hotel. I also found the staff to be very friendly and attentive, always willing to help.The only downside was that the room had a lingering cigarette smell. Although the staff kindly tried to treat the room and reduce the odor, it unfortunately did not completely go away. Overall, aside from this issue, the experience was very good and the service from the staff was much appreciated.

Google· 5 months agoA long time guestof the Kempinski, still happy with my choice in Shenzhen. There is no perfect location in SZ, it all depends on why you are visiting. The fist time I stayed here a decade ago the area was just starting its development and this was the top 5-star hotel in Nanshan. While time has taken its toll on the hotel's "newness" I keep coming back for the location, the service and the familiarity. The beds, bathrooms, elevators and room sizes are perfect. Whether here for business or vacation, get the DiDi ride hailing app, stay at the Kempinski and thank me later.

The room are great, clean and comfortable even though it is aged.The food are great and has a lot of varieties.
