I was part of the travel group: Insel Travel. Our tour guide got the hotels confirmation for the stay of our group. When we arrived at the reception they told us that there is no possibility for the bus to stay over night at the hotel (the bus could have stayed out of the city and our travel group in the hotel for which we all PAID FOR!!). So we were brought to the sister hotel (located out of Stockholm) which is located directly at the highway with no connection to public transport, no food market, not even with towels provided in the rooms. When I called the hotel staff at the Crystal Plaza hotel, he was so incompetent that he couldn’t even excuse himself. I asked if he could give my number to the hotel manager so that she could call me back (apparently it is not even possible to write a mail to the manager), well I am still wanting for the call. I asked whether my mother and I could stay at the hotel and come there on our own, he told me I would need to pay 140€ difference. So he couldn’t even understand that the confirmation was for this hotel and we paid the whole sum. Instead we were ticked and brought to a hotel where only industry workers are staying at. Such a horrible experience! So unprofessional and disrespectful. I have never experienced in my whole life to get the excess to a paid hotel room denied. The rooms are very tiny no Air Conditioning Service from the staff is marginal at Best free breakfast is so so the shower is very small and the volume on the TV set is set so low you can’t even hear it and they can’t or won’t adjust it for you even with the remote control it. It’s preset from the hotel. So watching TV is pointless you can’t hear it. Rooms are clean Daily.

Location is very nice. Rooms are okay, but the shower could be a little better, took a long time for water to warm up. Staff doesn’t even greet you when you’re leaving the hotel or coming back. Breakfast is fine but located within another restaurant.

Top notch lobby at times! They were very willing and seemed eager to help. Breakfast is okay not really great. Room is small but clean. Location is phenomenally placed. The price fair. The renovation and new lobby adds a lot, but the common area doesn’t feel welcome. No real common area. No gym, there’s an additional 150kr cost. Not sure about sauna.

The sink had stains and was not properly clean. In addition, the room heating was not working, and instead of changing our room, they brought us a small portable heater, which was obviously not sufficient to warm the room. Moreover, we found pins in the small blanket — completely unacceptable and extremely dangerous. Finally, the floor had not been properly cleaned, as we found hair clips on it.

The hotel is well located within walking distance of all the main attractions in this lovely city. It’s also easy to get to from the airport - Arlanda Express to Stockholm Central Station and then one stop on the metro. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The breakfast buffet is fine. I don’t understand other guests complaints on this point. On a couple of mornings, there was a waffle iron and batter, which I’ve never seen in a hotel before. My only quibble: No croissants. I had a poky single room away from the street, so I didn't experience the noise at night that other guests have complained about. The bed was comfortable, but there was no safe and wardrobe space was almost non-existent. The room had a small kettle with instant coffee, tea bags, etc. but housekeeping was haphazard about replenishing these. The bathroom was small too. The shower stall was fine, but the rest of the space, with the tiny wash basin and the toilet, was cramped. The wash basin was also too low on the wall. (I’m a tall guy.) My biggest problem with this hotel was the room cleaning schedule. Twice I arrived back at the hotel between 15:00 and 16:00 hours, tired from walking all day, wanting a shower and a nap, and my room hadn’t been cleaned yet. The housekeeping staff were polite but unhelpful about this. On one day my room wasn’t cleaned until 17:00 hours! For this reason alone, I wouldn’t stay at the Crystal Plaza Hotel again. Next time I visit Stockholm, I will pay more for a better hotel.
