Response from the property
Dear Fiona, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed our convenient location, the excellent service from our reception team, and the dining experience at our on-site restaurant. Unfortunately, when our heritage building was originally constructed in 1854, private ensuites were not part of guest accommodation. To provide modern comfort, we added private ensuites while preserving the building’s heritage character. This did require some adjustments to the original room layouts and resulted in more compact rooms. Your Standard Queen Room was the category booked and is advertised as 15 square metres, with room details and sizes clearly outlined in our descriptions. We appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a comfortable stay in the future, Kind regards, Ashley The Great Southern Hotel Management

Paddy's Markets, about 500 meters from the hotel, has takeaway and eat-in food options. For a different flavor, nearby Liverpool Street has some excellent Spanish restaurants. Darling Harbour, a 9-minute walk, also has many dining choices along the waterfront.
