May through September is the hottest and rainiest stretch, with frequent afternoon showers and high humidity. For the most comfortable weather, aim for late autumn or early spring.

Explore Songshan Raohe Night Market for a lively food scene. Yangmingshan National Park is a quick escape to volcanic landscapes and hot springs. is a large green space for a relaxing stroll.
You can take full-day tours to Yehliu, Jiufen, and Pingxi, where you can see the sea-eroded rock formations, old streets, and release sky lanterns. Shifen is also a popular stop for its waterfall and railway town charm. A private tour can take you to Taroko Gorge National Park for dramatic marble cliffs and hiking trails.
