Dear Daniël Houwen, Thank you so much for choosing to spend your nine-day vacation with us at The Gaia Hotel. To us, these nine days felt like more than just providing a service—it felt like hosting a dear friend from afar. We are so happy to hear that our team’s warmth made you feel right at home; knowing that is the greatest reward for all of us. It’s also wonderful to know you enjoyed the breakfast and our hot springs and massage. We’re thrilled we could help you recharge and truly unwind. Thank you for the high recommendation! We’ll keep up the passion and look forward to welcoming you back to Beitou soon. See you next time! Wishing you the very best, The Management Team, The Gaia Hotel

Try the hotel's own Qiyan ONE for award-winning Sichuan and Hunan dishes like Tianfu Spicy Duck Pot, or Piacere for Italian and French meals and a famous afternoon tea. Moon Shabu Shabu offers hot pot with seasonal seafood and meat. The Cafe and Bar are also on site for lighter bites and drinks. The nearby Beitou Market is a short walk away and a good spot for local food. Shi Lin Night Market, about a 20 to 30 minute trip, has more street food options.
You are in Beitou, Taipei's hot spring district, where the air carries a faint sulphur scent and the streets are lined with greenery and thermal baths. Beitou Park is just a 3-minute walk from the hotel, and the Taipei Public Library Beitou, Hot Spring Museum, and Thermal Valley are all within a short stroll. Shi Lin Night Market is a bit further out, perfect for a later food crawl. For a nature escape, Yangmingshan National Park is 8.6 km away, so you would need a car or transit. The hotel itself has a restaurant, cafe, and bar, so you are set for dining without leaving. This is a calm, walkable base surrounded by hot springs and hills, with the city center a longer trip away.
Take the metro from Taipei Songshan Airport to Xinbeitou or Beitou station, then use the hotel's shuttle from either. The shuttle runs a regular loop from the hotel to Beitou and Xinbeitou stations. From Taipei Main Station, a taxi or ride-hailing takes about 22 minutes. The hotel also arranges airport pick-up with advance notice, and both metro stations are on the Tamsui-Xinyi line about 20 minutes from downtown Taipei.
For an evening out, start at the hotel's own places: sip a drink in the Bar, enjoy a meal at Qiyan ONE for Sichuan and Hunan dishes, or try Moon Shabu Shabu for hot pot. A short 3-minute walk brings you to Beitou Park, ideal for a quiet end to the day. Shi Lin Night Market is a nearby option for a lively night out, though you'll need a taxi or a short metro ride. The hotel's cafe is another easy spot to unwind after exploring the area.
The Gaia Hotel is a great base for exploring Beitou itself, with Beitou Park just a 3 minute walk away and Beitou's hot spring sights like Thermal Valley and the Hot Spring Museum within a short stroll. For wider Taipei, sights such as Ximending and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall are roughly 10 to 11 km away, so you'll take a metro or taxi to reach them. The nearby Xinbeitou and Beitou metro stations connect you downtown easily. For a day trip, Yangmingshan National Park is 8.6 km away, a pleasant ride by car or bus. You get the calm of the hot spring district plus simple access to the city's main attractions.
