The Grand Hotel is truly an iconic landmark in Taipei. The exterior is absolutely stunning, and the grand lobby is magnificent, showcasing beautiful traditional Chinese architecture. It creates a wonderful first impression. Unfortunately, the experience completely changed once we entered our room. The room itself was outdated, but the biggest issue was that we found multiple cockroaches in the room. This is simply unacceptable, especially for a hotel of this reputation. When I called the front desk to report the problem, I was surprised that their immediate response was to send someone to catch the cockroaches instead of offering to move us to another room. I expected guest comfort and safety to be the priority. I’m writing this review not just to complain, but because I genuinely hope the hotel takes this issue seriously. The Grand Hotel is more than just a hotel—it’s one of Taipei’s most recognizable landmarks and, for many international visitors, a symbol of the city itself. It deserves to offer accommodations that match the beauty and prestige of its exterior. I sincerely hope the management addresses these issues so future guests can enjoy an experience that truly lives up to the hotel’s reputation.

We spent our last two nights here and were really impressed. It is more than a hotel; it is an experience! Definitely go on the tour of the escape tunnels. And the bar in the basement is excellent. Some of the drinks have interesting Taiwanese twists to them, and the bartenders are super friendly.

More than just a hotel, The Grand Hotel is a piece of Taiwan’s history. The architecture is beautiful, with countless details that reflect its heritage and charm. The staff were consistently welcoming and attentive. While it may not offer the latest luxury facilities, it provides something more memorable—a unique sense of place and history. Stunning! The views which you need to get a balcony room to enjoy the full experience of this place, the pool, exercise rooms, and location were incredible. Historical meets comfort with a dash of luxury. They have an incredible buffet breakfast, lunch, or dinner which we enjoyed all three and it’s worth it. Spreads of food that you will want a third plate for and fresh fruit/pastries/desert. This was more than I could ask for and so happy we got to enjoy this hotel as my first time in Taiwan.

The hotel itself is breathtaking, with its iconic architecture, elegant interiors, and stunning views of Taipei. Every corner reflects its rich history and timeless charm. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, providing the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. The breakfast buffet offered a wonderful variety of delicious dishes, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and luxurious. ​Our stay at the Grand Hotel was amazing! The corner suite was absolutely fantastic and incredibly comfortable. And the real highlight was the epic five meter deep swimming pool, an absolute must-visit!

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel! We especially enjoyed the music performance at the lobby. Also, the view from the second floor was surprisingly stunning, offering a beautiful panorama of the river, mountains, and the Taipei 101 skyline. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Jason Hsu (副組長徐永彬）for his warm hospitality on March 5. His kindness and welcoming attitude made our stay smooth and enjoyable. We truly appreciated the experience and will definitely be back!
