Google· 6 months agoWe had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The room was spacious, clean, bright, and quiet, with a very well-thought-out layout that made everything easy and intuitive to use. It’s not the kind of place that immediately feels flashy or eye-catching, but the longer you stay, the more you appreciate how everything is exactly where it should be—comfortable, practical, and thoughtfully designed. The staff were consistently warm and professional, always greeting guests with a friendly attitude, which made the experience feel welcoming throughout. I also accidentally left behind a personal item during my stay, and the hotel handled it very efficiently and smoothly, which I truly appreciated. The pineapple cakes and nougat provided were rich and delicious, and we also noticed the thoughtful gesture of birthday cards prepared for guests, which added a very personal touch. Overall, this stay really enhanced our trip to Taipei. I would happily recommend this hotel to friends and would definitely return in the future.

Google· a month agoGreat location in Zhongshan district Lives up to its name of being THE LUXURY hotel in Zhongshan district, minutes to the metro station. Shinkong & Eslite malls nearby Vibrant place with variety of fashion and food choices Room is spacious and squarish, layout of the room was also well designed with shower and bathroom facilities separated. Huge floor to ceiling windows also brightens the entire room with natural light Furnishing is also high quality and lives up to its brand name being a luxury hotel Lobby Staff were attentive, reached out for assistance without initiative Staff seems to have differing service for different nationalities of travelers - they bow to Japanese travelers but did not bow to non-Japanese. Experienced that a few times when we were taking the same lift as other Japanese versus us only in the lift. Suggest not to have such double standards of service, well we all paid the same room rates isn’t it? Downside of this restaurant: their checkout time at 11am is earlier than usual hotels. And strictly no late checkout, not sure what the fuss is, we sincerely requested for merely one hour of late checkout to buy us more time for our young children (5months old and a 3 year old) to rest before our evening flight home, but was sternly rejected without any consideration of our situation.

Google· 4 months agoMy recent stay at the okura prestige Taipei was extremely disappointing. The hygiene standards were subpar, but the real issue arose with the 'new' disposable slippers provided. They caused a severe allergic reaction on my skin, resulting in a rash. When I reported this to the Guest Relations team, They dismissively told me, “No other guest has ever experienced this.” However, this claim is completely irrelevant and deflects from the real issue: I have traveled extensively and have never experienced any allergic reaction to disposable slippers in my life. This proves that the specific batch or brand of slippers used by your hotel likely contains hazardous chemicals or industrial residues that exceed proper safety standards. Upon reporting the incident , a staff member did promptly visit my room to assess the situation . the Guest Relations team told me they would 'speak to a manager.' However, after that initial visit, the response completely collapsed. after waiting for hours and through to the next day, nobody followed up. No one from management came to check on my condition or offered any solution. Even at check-out, the incident was completely ignored. This lack of care and follow-through is concerning and reflects poorly on their poor guest service standards. Given the health issue and inadequate resolution, I won't be returning. I hope you'll review your amenities and complaint-handling procedures.

Tripadvisor· 5 months agoArriving at The Okura Prestige Taipei felt less like checking into a hotel and more like watching my nervous system slowly unclench over the course of several hours. Nothing here screams for attention. There are no theatrical fragrance clouds, no deafening lobby soundtrack, no performative sense of “luxury” constantly demanding to be noticed. Instead, the hotel operates with a kind of calm, highly considered precision that becomes more impressive the longer you stay. What struck me most was the extraordinary reduction of friction throughout the experience. The sliding doors glide almost silently. The room layout subtly expands the sense of space through borrowed light and thoughtful sightlines. The bathroom design — particularly the partially obscured glass behind the tub and the ability to separate the bathing area completely from the room — creates a feeling of calm enclosure without claustrophobia. Even the elevator experience somehow feels quieter and more civilized than at many luxury properties. The room itself was exceptionally comfortable and, perhaps more impressively, maintained to an almost obsessive standard. The finishes were spotless and entirely free of visible wear. The glass throughout the room — including the large sliding glass doors — was completely smudge-free. The paintwork was immaculate. The drapes, lighting, and room controls all functioned flawlessly from the bedside controls, which is a detail that sounds minor until you stay in enough supposedly luxury hotels where these systems are oddly unreliable or partially broken. The towels deserve special mention because they were extraordinarily soft without being overly thick or heavy. The bathroom products were equally thoughtful: the lavender shower gel and moisturizer smelled genuinely of lavender rather than synthetic perfume, and the moisturizer disappeared into the skin almost instantly instead of sitting on top of it like grease. Small details, but very much in keeping with the hotel’s overall philosophy of comfort without excess. The onsen and spa facilities were among the best I have experienced in an urban hotel. Everything was brilliantly maintained and properly calibrated: the hot pools were genuinely hot, the cold pool was actually cold, the steam room was fully functional and properly humid, and the sauna was dry and hot in the way a sauna should be. The showers had excellent pressure, the grooming products were excellent, and despite being heavily used, the entire space remained calm, clean, and uncrowded. Even the in-room entertainment felt oddly luxurious in a way many modern hotels overlook. Instead of a stripped-down, barely functional television system, the channel lineup included HBO, Cinemax, and other premium movie channels that felt almost nostalgically complete — the sort of hotel television experience that has quietly disappeared from many supposedly high-end properties over the last decade. The service matched the physical environment: warm, restrained, efficient, and emotionally intelligent without becoming intrusive. Problems did not need to be negotiated into existence. Things simply worked. I also have to mention the breakfast and food quality generally, which were far better than expected. In many luxury hotels, dessert buffets in particular tend to look far more impressive than they taste. Here, even relatively simple items were executed with real care and technical competence. What ultimately distinguishes this hotel, however, is that it understands something many luxury properties do not: true luxury is not spectacle. It is the elimination of unnecessary friction. It is the ability to move through a space without constantly being reminded of design decisions, operational compromises, or sensory assaults. By the second day, I found myself actively reluctant to leave the property — not because the hotel was flashy or overwhelming, but because it had become so unusually easy to relax there. I also left with a strong desire to experience more of the Okura brand elsewhere. This stay demonstrated a level of quiet operational competence and sensory restraint that has become surprisingly rare in modern luxury hospitality. I genuinely cannot wait to return. The Okura Prestige Taipei is one of the most calming urban hotels I have stayed in anywhere.

Trip.com· 6 months agoI really enjoyed my stay at The Okura. The service was excellent and they upgraded my room, wich was awesome. It was large, spacious and very nice to come back to after a long and hot day out. I really appreciated that. I also liked the construction quality and use of good quality material throughout. My only gripe is there was a slight musty smell until the cleaning lady turned on the dehumidifier, and then it went away. Overall, it was superb, especially the service. I also appreciate that there was a cold plunge in the spa and that it was freezing cold. So many places compromise nowadays on everything. It’s nice they try to stick to the standard here.

Google· 2 months agoExceptional in every respect. I particularly appreciate the Japanese Onsen style sana, hot tub, and cold bath. The service was top notch the room spacious and clean. Check in and check out smooth and efficient. Truly a five star experience all around.

Excellent location, walking distance from Takeshimaya Department store and subway Impeccable, friendly and helpful service. Clean, modern and generous size bedroom and bathroom with comfortable beds. TV could have more western business, sports and news channel!

Google· 4 months agoI'm so frustrated with the front desk. I have requested earlier check-in and I have received an email telling me that the check-in time is 3 PM. I arrived at 1:35 and I told the front desk that I hope to have earlier check-in but they said that the room is under cleaning and will notify me by email if ready. Then at 3:05 pm I still couldn't get my room. But I went to the front desk they have the keys ready and I said why you didn't inform me? No actual reply, vague excuses. I said I want my luggage and it took more 7 minutes. I feel that the service is frustrating as they could have told me that the room is ready and not to wait for me to go to the front desk to check. Also the luggage stored in the concierge room should have taken to my room once ready and not having me waiting stupidly in the lobby for them to bring out.
