Dirty. Lots of bugs on the bed & in the bathroom. We heard every voice, sneeze and foot step from the room above us. The hotel restaurant is directly outside the rooms (with glass doors). Late at night we heard cutlery banging on plates, blenders making drinks, people shouting, very loud music, ect. The lock on our room door was broken. It would take 3-5 minutes of wiggling the key to lock to door & it could easily be forced open. There was NO hotel staff most of the time. When we could find the hotel staff, they were unfriendly and communication was very difficult (they don't speak English / we don't speak Spanish). We felt unwelcome. I love Costa Rica & I love Tamarindo ❤️ but I will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

Loved this hotel! It’s a little outside of the main tourist area, which was SO NICE because the beach was basically private, it was nice and quiet, and the hotel grounds are beautiful! The room was nothing too fancy, but definitely clean and comfortable. The employees were helpful. The restaurant was amazing. I doubt we’ll come back to Tamarindo if we travel to Costa Rica again, but if we did, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Great place.

The lady & her son who run the place were excellent. It was quiet & air conditioning worked awesome. Only issue was with key not working properly for front door but I got help a new key right away. It is on the beach in secluded off right at end of main strip, so in 4 minutes walk you on your way in shops food etc…The views from this hotel at night were amazing! There’s even an amazing restaurant right downstairs and the staff are amazing. Also, the cleaning staff was so nice! You won’t regret staying here that’s for sure! Thank you for the hospitality 🇵🇱🇺🇸😊

Personally we love this space! It's away from the center but still within walking distance so it's much quieter. You can watch the sunset from their beautiful courtyard, there's hammocks for relaxing and if you're lucky you'll spot some monkeys! The bathroom is a bit dated and could probably use a new faucet in the shower but the water got hot and we had everything we needed. We thought the bed were very comfortable too and there's ac in the rooms that works great! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice simple space with great service!

The beds are really hard at this place, and the towels are raggedy and old. Cable is in Spanish, but luckily, we brought tablets so we could watch movies that we had downloaded. The shower and the toilet backed up.... The Red Door that's attached to the hotel is fantastic. They make great drinks, the food is awesome and the people are very friendly. I got sick, but NOT from eating at the Red Door, and they were so kind to me I was really impressed. There were lots of lizards and birds and iguanas, so that was very cool. The beach is 3 minutes away and I would stay at this place again
