The best time to visit Tel Aviv is April through June, when temperatures are warm but not too hot and rain is rare. September and October are also pleasant, with similar conditions and fewer crowds. July and August are the hottest months, with highs around 32°C and no rain, while December through February bring the most rain, with about 11 rainy days per month. For beach weather, late spring and early autumn are ideal.
Stay in the City Center around Rothschild Boulevard for easy access to cafes, museums, and nightlife; it suits first-timers. The Beach Area along HaYarkon Street is ideal for beach lovers, with hotels like the Hilton and Tal by The Beach. For a quieter, historic vibe, consider Yafo (Jaffa), near the Clock Tower and port, with options like The Drisco. Each area is walkable and well-connected by transit.
Start at the Clock Tower in Jaffa, the old port city, for its history and views. The Tel Aviv Museum of Art is a major modern and contemporary art collection. Jaffa Port (נמל יפו) offers a lively waterfront with restaurants and galleries. Tel Aviv Port is a popular promenade with shops and cafes. ANU Museum of the Jewish People tells the story of Jewish identity and culture.
You can take full-day tours to Masada and the Dead Sea, Jerusalem and Bethlehem, and Galilee, Nazareth, and the Jordan River. Masada offers ancient ruins and the Dead Sea is a unique salt lake. Jerusalem and Bethlehem are rich in religious and historical sites. Galilee and Nazareth are known for biblical landscapes and the Sea of Galilee. Another option is a tour to Caesarea, Rosh Hanikra, and Acre, which covers Roman ruins, sea grottoes, and a Crusader port.
Plan 3 to 4 days in Tel Aviv. In 3 days, you can see the Clock Tower and Jaffa Port, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, and the Tel Aviv Port, plus Rabin Square and the Yitzhak Rabin Center. Add a fourth day for a day trip to Masada and the Dead Sea or Jerusalem and Bethlehem, which needs an extra day beyond the city sights.
