10/10 – An unforgettable experience Everything was absolutely impeccable from check-in to check-out. We had a special request for a birthday surprise, and the hotel team not only handled it perfectly, but went far beyond anything we had asked for. Their attention to detail and genuine care in making our stay special truly stood out. The hotel has a unique charm that really makes you feel as if you’ve stepped into an elegant old castle. The atmosphere is classic, refined, and full of character, while still offering every modern comfort. The location is excellent, and the service was flawless throughout our stay. I wholeheartedly recommend Fairmont Royal York. It is worth staying here not only for the accommodation itself, but for the entire experience it offers.

I love this hotel. I stayed at room 4199 from the 23-26 and then extended to the 28. It was my first time, and when I first entered the rooms I did feel like the style is a bit outdated. However, once I actually interacted with everything, it is all high quality, in pristine condition, clean and functional. I also realized it fits the overall aesthetic of the hotel itself, so why change it? I was so comfortable in that room I even extended it for 2 more days. The coffee machine works great, the bed is very comfortable. Room cleaning is thorough, and room service was beyond my expectations. I’ve stayed in flashy new hotels that don’t give me the same vibe as this one. There are definitely a lot of business travellers but they do add a good busy vibe to the central bar, while the room areas remain quiet. The food is amazing in this hotel, I had to force myself to eat elsewhere or I wouldn’t have explored other eats at all. The gym also blew me away, you can have a full weightlifting workout with ample space. Beats any other hotel I’ve been at.

Spent one night - amazing place. Customer Service is clearly priority. You can be dressed up in designer or look like a tired family who spent a day at the zoo and be treated like celebrities. Check in was easy. The cookies and milk for kids is a sweet touch. Room was comfy, staff incredibly friendly and the valet parking was hassle free. Will book two nights next time!

We had an amazing stay. Joy checked us in and she was such a sweet lady. Made our stay extra specially by getting us an early check in. She also had champagne and chocolate strawberries sent to our room as us three gal pals were celebrating our 40th birthday. The hotel is in a great location, just across the street from union station and a short walk from CN tower, rogers centre and ripleys museum. Would definitely stay here again.

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing because of the housekeeping and a billing issue. When we first arrived, the bathroom was not properly cleaned. There were several hairs in the bathtub and on the tiled wall, and the fixtures were visibly dirty. We asked for the bathroom to be cleaned again. Someone came back, removed some of the hair and cleaned the toilet, but there was still hair left on the wall and the fixtures still looked dirty afterward. In the end, we had to clean the remaining areas ourselves. Because of that experience, we decided not to use housekeeping for the rest of our stay, as we no longer felt confident in the quality of the cleaning. The hotel did send us wine and chocolates as an apology, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the final “cherry on top” was an unexpected $150 charge on our bill after the stay. This amount was not shown on the bill I personally signed, and I am still waiting for an explanation from the hotel. The property itself is beautiful and the location is excellent, but the cleanliness and unresolved billing issue really affected our overall experience.

My husband and I stayed over the long weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had booked a basic room and upon check in were upgraded as well as offered some treats sent to our room to celebrate our anniversary. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, although quite small. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was bustling, but the floors and elevators were quick and quiet. We did not use any of the amenities but you can't beat the location. All in all a great stay, but the rooms aren't necessarily 5 star Fairmont quality.

Great stay overall (and would definitely consider the property for our next visit), but we did have a couple of concerns. First was upon check in. After checking us in, the rep came from behind the desk to give us our keys and said our floor and room number out loud. This is a huge flag and for safety reasons should never be done. Second was a bill for lunch charged to our room during a time where we weren't on the property. Upon checkout the it was resolved but made us question the protocol to ensure that the correct room is charged.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. I love the rich history and all of the timeless character that they've kept over the years. Definitely felt like a luxury hotel. Our room was so clean and all of the amenities were very nice. The slippers and bathrobe were great. We did the public parking in Royal Bank south tower and it was great that the PATH was connected right to the hotel, it was raining so the underground walk was nice. Check-in was quick and staff was helpful. Love how close it is to CN tower and Rogers Center. Definitely our favorite hotel in Toronto.
