Lovely boutique hotel with accommodating staff. We had a balcony view of the port. A short walk from the funicular Concepcion. Area is very hilly and some long stairways also. Stairs to get to room except one on first floor. Staff carried baggage up to room. Small restaurant on lower level. Very much enjoyed this stay.

Although there was a mix up with our reservation (as the booking stated that we had booked a sea view room when in reality a city view room was reserved) staff made it up to us with a night in a sea view room at no extra cost. If you are coming to Valparaíso, try to book a sea view as the view is very nice and at night there is very little noise from the street (which kept us up until late at night with the seagulls waking us up early in the morning). Both were rooms were clean, with the city view being a little on the small side. Breakfast was included and was served in their adjoining restaurant which had two terraces overlooking the bay. There was a choice of toast with eggs, ham & cheese or a pesto with cheese and cherry tomatoes. Accompanied with this was a small bowl of fruit and a crepe.... delicious. My only complaint was the coffee .... made from instant. All in all a very nice stay. Thanks to all the staff!!

Front door of Hotel Boutique 17 is located on a cobblestone street in historic hillside enclave of Cerro Concepcion of Valparaiso, Chile. Back side of building perches on hillside, so 6 of 10 hotel rooms [upper levels] and restaurant [lower levels] overlook the harbor and bay. Four rooms [3, 4 on second level up from street; 7, 8 third floor] face the built-up hillside. Pricing is fair. Rooms are clean but small. Our Room 5 had floor to ceiling windows facing the Pacific AND a significant balcony with chairs and table. Lovely! Breakfast was included - coffee, fresh fruit cup, juice, ham & cheese or egg sandwiches, and crepe filled with strawberry jam. Lunch and dinner offerings are mostly sandwiches. Restaurants next door have more extensive dinner menus. This barrio and Cerro Alegre above it are very popular for local and international tourism. Port area at base of hillside was once a tourist mecca, but petty crime drove out the tourists and many attractions have closed. We were warned away, particularly at night. Cerros Concepcion and Alegre are safe in the daytime, but security declines at night. Cerro Concepcion has a Museo del Inmigrante at the top of the hill with an elevator to an observation deck. Well worth the admission price to view this well executed museum and the view. Street parking is extremely limited.

Nice view, but the hotel is a little tired, as tired as the city itself. Wi-Fi works poorly, the Internet is constantly interrupted. The breakfast is delicious, thanks for the welcome drink.

Very good value for the price. We stayed in an ocean view suite, view was very pleasant. Room was a good size, very clean, bed very comfy, and had a small balcony. We arrived at 6:30am and we were allowed into our room early as it was vacant. Staff were super friendly and helpful during the stay w/ directions, suggestions and just generally seemed very happy to be there! Breakfast was simple but yummy if little on the sweet side for my liking ( sandwich and pancakes), but included in the price.

What a beautiful place. The rooms are clean and well appointed, the views are just incredible. There's a fantastic restaurant downstairs with views of the coast and harbour. There's so much around the hotel to see within walking distance and the whole area is bursting with character. Our only regret was not staying longer.

After first visiting in 2019, we returned here for two nights.|The hotel still has its charm but has aged a bit and isn’t quite as well-maintained visually as it was in 2019. Most rooms offer a fantastic view of Valparaíso and parts of the harbor. We again had a room with a view (as booked), including breakfast. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Since the weather didn’t cooperate, breakfast was served in a small breakfast room. As the hotel was well booked, it felt a bit cramped. The breakfast was good, but not as great as we remembered from 2019. The independently run restaurant, with its rustic outdoor terrace and the same stunning view of the city, is definitely worth recommending. Drinks, cocktails, and food were all good. All in all, still a good choice—especially because of the location right in the old town (everything within walking distance) and the fantastic views.|However, the owners should place more emphasis on maintenance and restoring the visual appeal, as the competition from other charming boutique hotels in Valparaíso is strong and growing.

A real mixed bag and we stayed 4 nights . The room we had was a good size, modern , comfortable with access to a shared balcony with amazing views . The problem is it’s right next to reception and the noise is a lot . The internet was a bit of a challenge and had to get a few different log ins from reception as kept dropping out . Staff were super friendly . Breakfast was ok but very same same each day . Sandwich or eggs with a pancake and fruit . Cereal and coffee also available. Great location and nice place just hoped for a bit better to be honest
