Was in town for a conference, good location. Interior was nice and clean. But they have a couple bars on the 6/F floor which plays very loud music right into 2am in the morning on most days, and it can be noisy in the room which affects sleep quality. Would not recommend.

I’m a business traveller and Marriott Bonvoy platinum member who’s stayed at Marriott properties all over the world - the Douglas is my favourite of all the bonvoy properties that I’ve been too. I recently stayed for 3 nights for a medical treatment and 2 gentlemen Eis and Pouriya made my stay so special. They were professional, helpful and so kind. The hotel is very lucky to have them. It’s a beautiful property, gorgeous rooms, Aesop bath amenities, great breakfast, shared rooftop hot tub and a great location - I will stay here again anytime I’m in Vancouver for business or personal visits. Thank you Eis and Pouriya!!

My mom and I were visiting Vancouver to see Bruno Mars and we had the best experience here at the Douglas! The lobby front desk manager, Eis, was so welcoming and generous from the moment we walked in! His service and hospitality was unmatched and made our stay even more memorable. The room and bed were spacious and very comfortable. We had an amazing time here!

The Douglas is not for the business traveller. Only reason the hotel gets 3 is because of the staff and location. If you are staying for business, this is not your hotel. Lower floor rooms facing BC place are above the Casino Lounge/Patio and you hear everything - even though that staff tried to assist. For a 6:30 am checkout, if you need to go to the front desk you have to walk to the JW side. Bathroom lacks a hand shower and sufficient towel racks, and the thermostat works but is frustratingly locked. No Fridge in the room and that desk chair is awful and hard to get comfortably to work. I can be nit picky when you pay these prices. The positives. The staff are excellent. I am sure I missed a few but Ricky & Andres were very helpful and responsive. The room as quirky as it is is comfortable except there is no place to really unwind, There is no couch but a nice window bench

Stayed at this location during our recent wedding. Everything was great with one exception. NOISE !! We stayed on the 7th floor and turnout there is a club that start on the 6th floor patio and the music goes until 11:00 pm. This is fine if that is your scene but for us it was less than enjoyable. Would recommend that the hotel advises their guest about this prior to guests booking a room that could be impacted by this noise.

We arrived at the Douglas after an East Coast to West Coast flight, very exhausted and looking forward to a restful night's sleep. Upon going up to the 6th floor check in desk, we were concerned about the crowded, loud party that was taking place in the lounge. Then when I was given our room assignment on the 7th floor, I expressed concern that we would be directly above the din. The agent advised me that it should be removed from that and that they "rarely receive complaints about noise", but that we could go upstairs and see what we think. The pulsing bass was strongly felt in our room. We were then told that there were no other rooms available in the hotel. The party was to be going until 3 AM and sleep was not viable with that noise. We went to the front desk of the adjacent JW Marriot and asked to be moved. They too told us that they had no rooms available. The representative offered us some Marriott Rewards points as consolation. While considerate, this did not solve our problem.|We are really baffled as to how a hotel can classify itself as a 5 star luxury hotel and have a loud, raging party going on so close to guest rooms. We were told that the lounge has a different owner and that they had no control over that party, but that is just sloughing off responsibility. Management did follow through with a follow up email to me after our stay. This stay was several weeks ago. Our unpleasant experience just got worse:|Nearly three weeks later, I have a pending charge for the equivalent of $100 CAD on my credit card. I called the hotel directly and was told that I have to contact Hotwire. A Hotwire/Expedia rep assured me that they had not billed me and told me that I have to call the hotel directly. I then called the hotel and asked to speak to the manager on duty. Alas, they were "in a meeting". I am now waiting for a call back.|Update: A Hotwire representative assisted me via text message. Even though the hotel employee blamed the problem on Hotwire, it was the hotel's room deposit that showed up late. Point for Hotwire. While the rooms were nice, and clean, and the employees were personable, this experience was pretty awful and I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel. What if there is another party going on? A secondary, much less impactful concern:|We had booked through a third party (Hotwire), and our Hotwire reservation clearly stated that we had a single King bed room reserved. The hotel said that they do not promise specific configurations when booked through third parties.

I stayed at The DOUGLAS, Autograph Collection Hotel in Vancouver in early May for five days during a work event and had a great experience. The hotel quality and service were excellent. My room was clean, spacious, and quiet—perfect for resting and also for attending virtual meetings. The internet was fast and stable, and housekeeping kept everything well stocked. I had no issues at all and would definitely stay there again.

Nightclub bass kept us awake until 3 a.m. We stayed at the Douglas on Saturday. At about 11 p.m., loud music and pounding bass from a nightclub inside the hotel, next to the front desk, began carrying into our room. We could feel the bass and could not sleep as it was truly deafening At 1 a.m., we called the front desk for help. We were told no other room was available and that the music would continue until 3 a.m. We booked through Hotwire. When Hotwire contacted the hotel about what happened, the hotel management refused a refund and cited the booking’s no-refund policy. We were not trying to cancel a stay or change our plans; we were put in a room were sleeping was not possible until 3am that night. At checkout, we called the situation “thievery,” and the person behind the counter agreed. He apologized and acknowledged that selling rooms affected by the nightclub during its operating hours was wrong. We appreciated his honesty, but it made the hotel’s management refusal to provide the refund approval even harder to understand. We later found other guest reviews describing the same pounding bass, vibrating rooms, and music continuing until 3 a.m. This appears to be a recurring issue. We cannot know how the hotel assigns third-party bookings, but being given this room and then having the 3rd party cancellation/refund policy cited in response to our complaint left us feeling trapped by the booking. Guests deserve a clear warning about the nightclub before booking, and the hotel should take responsibility when the noise makes a room unsuitable for sleeping. We did not agree to pay for a hotel room to be forced to stay awake until 3 a.m. by pounding bass from the hotel’s own nightclub, the walls and bed were actually shaking. They offered bonus points for their membership as compensation; they know what they are doing.
