The pictures online are nice but room we got was small, had no full length mirror, our window was right at a parking lot so we kept our blinds and curtains closed the entire time because we didn’t want to come face to face with anyone at their car. We were on the same floor as the gym so we could hear people dropping weights. We visited our friends room and it looked completely different and bigger. Staff was very nice, the bar area has nice seating. There are lots of place to eat and get drinks in the area.

​I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Royal Sonesta near Dupont Circle! From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly helpful and pleasant, always going out of their way to make me feel welcome. The rooms are fantastic: spotlessly clean, remarkably spacious, and providing the perfect place to relax after a busy day. A few more electric outlets would be a welcome addition. ​One of my absolute favorite features was the seamless communication with the hotel staff. Being able to just shoot them a quick text message with questions or requests was so convenient, and they always replied promptly and cheerfully! ​The location is also perfect for getting around. I found it exceptionally easy to catch an Uber right outside the hotel whenever I needed to explore the city. ​If you're looking for a relaxing, stress-free stay in DC with top-notch service, I highly recommend the Royal Sonesta.

I’d recommend this hotel! The inside is very different to outside - cosy and quirky! Great location. Takes just 20 minutes to walk downtown - hotel location offers neighbourhood with great range of restaurants and shops with sites and museums of DC nearby. |Door staff, front desk staff and bar staff were welcoming and friendly! Room was huge and clean.

Had an enjoyable 3 night stay. The room was a great size, very clean and bathroom had a good over-bath shower. It was a quiet room on road side and opposite lift but we couldn’t hear neither !|A fair distance from popular attractions but close to metro station & taxi’s outside !|The area had a safe neighbourhood vibe with lots of independent restaurants close by.

I’ve had a fantastic stay at the Royal Sonesta so far. The hotel has been great, but what has really stood out is the service. Ray and Elias have both been exceptional and have gone above and beyond to make sure my stay has been smooth, comfortable, and enjoyable. They were incredibly helpful, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely made me feel taken care of from the moment I arrived. Great hospitality is what separates a good hotel stay from a memorable one, and Ray and Elias absolutely delivered. They are tremendous representatives of the Royal Sonesta and deserve recognition for the level of service they provide. Highly recommend the property, and a huge thank you to Ray and Elias for making my experience even better!

This was our 3rd hotel of 3 in our Toronto, New York and Washington DC trip and the best of the 3. The hotel is just off Dupont Circle which is within walking distance of the all the sites if you are fit to walk. We did upward of 30,000+ steps a day but a Metro station is only a 5 minute walk away. We were in New York and caught the train to Union Station and then the Metro to Dupont Circle - it was a breeze.|Check in was speedy, they had a room available even though it was before the offical time for check-in. |The room was very large, clean, and had Coffee Machine, Iron and Ironing board. Bottled water supplied and also available from front desk.|We did Bed only but there are eateries around for breakfast and evening meals

My stay at The Royal Sonesta Washington, DC Capitol Hill was exceptional. The location is unbeatable—just steps from Union Station and a short walk to the U.S. Capitol and the National Mall. ​The hotel itself is modern, beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean. The room was spacious, quiet, and equipped with very comfortable bedding, ensuring a great night's rest. Staff at front desk and housekeeping were exceptionally polite, helpful, and efficient throughout my stay. ​Highly recommended for both business travelers and tourists looking for luxury and convenience in DC. Will definitely return!

I never imagined this would be the hardest hotel review I would ever write. Our trip to Washington, DC, at the end of May and beginning of June 2026 turned out to be the last happy journey of my husband’s life, making this stay a memory I will treasure forever. We decided to travel to US only four days before our departure date from Egypt and booked the Royal Sonesta Dupont Circle which proved to be an excellent choice two days before our flight. We enjoyed our stay so much that we even discussed returning to this hotel in case we decided to revisit Washington, DC in the future. Public transportation like buses and metro station are in a walking distance zone. Pharmacy and supermarket are very close too. Several dining options are available in the neighborhood. Upon arrival , Keanu the Front Desk Officer warmly welcomed us and allocated a high floor room with excellent amenities. Then we explored the pool and fitness center where all facilities were available including towels and water. I would only suggest to keep pool warm or heated because that day the pool was really cold. I am grateful that we passed by upon arrival as I captured several wonderful videos of my husband enjoying the pool after long flights and practiced at the gym; those precious memories, I will cherish forever. The hotel’s décor is elegant, modern, and beautifully maintained, creating a fresh and welcoming atmosphere. During our stay, the hotel was undergoing renovation work in the reception area. Despite this, the construction never disrupted our experience, and the staff continued to provide outstanding service throughout our visit. The room was spacious, modern and comfortable, had all amenities and facilities. Thanks Martha our Housekeeping staff who did an excellent job every day, keeping our room clean and tidy and consistently restocking the coffee, tea, and milk capsules. My only suggestion would be to provide more toilet paper as backup. The only disappointing aspect of our stay was breakfast. We ordered two omelette dishes and croissant through room service, and unfortunately the croissant did not taste good. If I was not feeling lazy that morning, I would have preferred my usual morning walk to Le Pain Quotidien which is few minutes from the hotel to enjoy freshly baked pastries and coffee latte. Finally, my sincere thanks to the Front Office team Keanu, Ray and Elias, the door and bell staff who used to greet us everyday and Martha our Housekeeping member for their professionalism, kindness, and dedication to ensuring an exceptional guest experience. That trip to DC, our stay at Royal Sonesta hotel, and the entire experience became one of the most meaningful chapters of my life. I had the privilege of spending the last few happy days with my beloved husband before returning home in Egypt in such beautiful and welcoming surroundings, creating memories that I will cherish forever.
