the hotel is very close to the train station and very clean and modern, nice staff. i understand it's a budget hotel yet i believe everyone just needs one full length mirror in the room and possibly a bigger breakfast selection. other than that, i really enjoyed my stay.

Really enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again. The room was a decent size and it was nice and clean! The staff were all lovely and smiled at you saying hello every time you walked past reception. Couldn’t fault this place for the price we paid. It is also a 5/6 minute walk to Malioboro street and 2 minute walk to the main train station so the location really could not be better! Would recommend staying here!

My main consideration when I chose to book this hotel is only the location. I need a decent hotel which is reachable on foot from the Yogyakarta Tugu train station, as I had to catch 1st airport train. But, this hotel totally exceeds my expectation. The location is of course unbeatable with only 5-min walking from/to the station and around 500-600 metres from the famous Malioboro street. The security team is helpful and friendly. They always ready to help guests. The front office staff are all friendly and efficient. The room is spotlessly clean and the room width is just right for 2 persons in transit; although, it may a bit small if you want to have a prolong holiday with kids in tow. Will definitely stay here again, especially if I need to catch early morning train and am on budget.

Decent budget hotel. It's right next to the train station, which is convenient, but it's also very noisy throughout the night. It's also directly across a mosque so be ready to hear calls to prayer bright and early. Definitely not for light sleepers.Aside from that, the rooms were about as you'd expect for a solid budget hotel

For the price this place is worth it. Breakfast needs a little improvement. The room was simple and clean. Bathroom was absolutely clean. Pack your toilet essentials such as soap, shampoo, lotions etc.

Very satisfied with this clean cheerfully colored room just a few minutes' walk from the main train station and just another couple of minutes to Malioboro walking street. Good base for getting to the temples and exploring the city. Big convenience market across the street. Friendly front desk. Would use this hotel and brand again.

Yogyakarta is not just a city you visit, it is a city that receives you. The warmth of its people is disarming. Ask for directions and you won’t just be pointed the way—you may be walked halfway there. Order a simple meal at a warung and you are treated like a guest at someone’s home. This kind of hospitality is not a service, it is a rhythm of life, like the soft air that drifts through the city at dusk. Pop Hotel, part of the Ascott Group, has tapped into this spirit by offering a stay that is refreshingly straightforward. It is clean, efficient, and unfussy, which is exactly what most travelers want when the city itself is the real attraction. The staff are quick to help, smiles come easily, and even the most modest request is met with an eagerness that feels genuine. Its location makes it an easy choice. Just a short walk from the train station and only a few hundred meters from Malioboro, you can tumble out of the hotel and into the beating heart of Yogyakarta within minutes. Street food vendors, late-night batik stalls, and the never-ending hum of Malioboro’s sidewalk performances are all right there. Of course, Pop Hotel is not a place to linger. Rooms are simple, beds are firm, showers are reliable. It is a place to rest your head after a day of temples, markets, or conversations with strangers who quickly feel like old friends. And that is the point. Who comes to Yogyakarta to hide away in a hotel? If you’re looking for a stay that is light on the wallet but rich in the ease and warmth that Jogja embodies, Pop Hotel makes a quiet but convincing case. It doesn’t try to compete with the city. Instead, it gives you a comfortable launchpad into its charms.
