The hotel is not in the Center of Zurich but on Orliekon. Area of workers . And not a cheap hotel too . The hotel very clean , soft beds , we got a very good room . Breakfast simple but very tasty . As it is near my relatives I will take it again

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Sternen Oerlikon after a week-long trip to Switzerland, and the accommodations exceeded our expectations. It was a great value, the room was immaculate with comfortable bedding, great air conditioning, and super convenient to get the to the airport. Staff were very friendly and helpful with loaning us an adaptor (we brought wrong one), assisting us with mailing a card, extra pillow and blanket. Breakfast was very good with attentive staff keeping things cleaned and full. There is plenty of shopping and restaurants in the vicinity. I recommend - 3 star hotel with a 5 star experience.

We travelled up to Zurich for a Saturday night to watch a show at the Theatre (Theatre 11), so we wanted something nearby - so this was a great find! It's only about 15 minutes away on the tram from the main station, so super convenient. The check-in/-out times are great; we were able to have a super lazy morning rather than rushing to get out. The room was super clean and the bed was comfortable. I'm not a fan of European pillows (the ones that are big but paper-thin), but that is just a personal preference. Good value for money as well - didn't break the bank, but not cheap. District 11 is a cute little place and worth a wander around if you have some time to spare; much calmer than the city center. There are a few good coffee shops within 5 minutes as well, so that's always a great way to start the day. We'll be back the next time we want to see a show!

Stayed here during major construction that nobody disclosed, and the way management handled it is why I'm writing this. The location is convenient, a short walk from the station, and the room itself was clean with working AC, they even let me check in early. The problem was the noise. Construction ran from roughly 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM with no warning posted anywhere at booking or at check-in. It came through the wall, so closing the window did nothing. When I first raised it, the receptionist suggested it might be the trams. Housekeeping, meanwhile, told me plainly that it was the construction - no hedging, no confusion about what I was asking. But when I brought it up with the front desk and later the manager, I was told there was no construction happening at all. I ended up playing them a recording I'd made from my room before it was acknowledged. The manager's response was that I “couldn't expect a perfect stay.” After repeated complaints I was given a 60 CHF refund and free breakfast, which I do want to credit. But the refund isn't really the issue. Being told something wasn't happening while I could hear it through the wall of my room (and while their own staff had already confirmed it) is what I'll remember, and it's why I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Disclose the construction and let guests decide.

Good hotel! Friendly staff and very reasonably priced for Zurich. 5 minute train ride to the main Zurich station, which is perfect. The room was comfortable and I’d stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel in Zurich. The proximity to the airport was why we booked it, but we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful, more modern decor, the comfy beds,. There are lots of restaurants and shopping options within a few minute walk. We had a balcony so had a nice view of this part of the city. We appreciated the parking spot. We will be sure to stay here again in the future! We may make it a train only trip and this hotel is perfect for that - the train station is just a quick walk away.

We stayed for 7 nights at this hotel. The most impressive thing about this hotel is the location and how easily accessible the trams and trains are. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby as well. The room was clean and comfortable even though it was small. But that seems to be everywhere in Europe. The hotel staff was really pleasant, helpful and kind. The breakfast buffet was amazing and had a lot of choices for everyone. Had an amazing time here!

The Sternen Oerlikon Hotel is a 7-minute walk from the Oerlikon train station and thus provides good but maybe not ideal access to city and airport. The hotel itself is clean, modern, quiet. Swiss quality. Nothing to complain about. Room on 5th floor had a balcony and was quite spacious. Good for anybody who wants to have a comfortable hub for a stay in the Zurich area and who does not want to be right next to the airport or in the middle of the city (for nightlife).
