We had a fantastic four night stay at this superb hotel. We had a lovely room overlooking the square that was perfect for what we needed. The staff were amazing , helpful and thoughtful. We enjoyed the relaxing breakfast that had plenty of options and variety and afternoon and evening dining in the Savoy Brasserie. We also dined at Orsini and that was magical. The hotel is perfectly located , near all the sights that you would like to see, not far from the lake, near the fine churches, museums and older parts of the city. All within walking distance. Despite being in the centre it is also a relaxing place to stay.

Mandarin Oriental Zurich is another reminder why Mandarin Oriental remains one of our favorite hotel brands. At the same time, it also showed us that there are noticeable differences between properties. We have consistently had exceptional experiences in Madrid and Barcelona, while Zurich and Vienna unfortunately didn’t quite reach the same level. Ambience: 5/5 Room: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Breakfast: 4/5 Consistency: 4/5 Final Verdict: 4.5/5 The hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms, design, atmosphere and overall quality are exactly what you expect from Mandarin Oriental. We stayed in Room 310, which was spacious, elegant and perfectly maintained. The only small downside was its location facing the street. During the evening it was perfectly quiet, but the trams in the early morning were noticeable if you are a light sleeper. Our first impression, however, was unfortunately disappointing. We had reserved lunch on the rooftop terrace at 2:00 PM and were among the very first guests to order. Despite that, we waited approximately 75–90 minutes for our food. Considering the price level and the Mandarin Oriental standard, this simply should not happen. It was especially unfortunate because it was my girlfriend’s birthday, and the long wait took away much of the excitement and enjoyment of the afternoon. What truly impressed us was how the situation was handled afterwards. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the manager’s name—he had dark hair, worn longer and styled back—but he immediately took ownership of the situation, listened carefully, acted professionally and genuinely cared about making things right. That is exactly the level of hospitality I expect from Mandarin Oriental. Mistakes can happen anywhere; the difference is how they are handled, and he handled it exceptionally well. Breakfast was of very good quality, but compared with Mandarin Oriental Madrid and Barcelona, the buffet selection felt more limited. We also noticed that around 10:30 AM parts of the buffet were already being cleared away. I was working throughout breakfast and under quite a bit of business pressure, so that may have influenced my overall perception, but compared to the Spanish properties, there is still room for improvement. Overall, this remains a hotel I would gladly recommend. The rooms, location and overall product are excellent, and the professionalism shown by the management after our disappointing first lunch deserves genuine recognition. For me, luxury is not about never making mistakes—it’s about how a hotel responds when something goes wrong. In that respect, the management team demonstrated exactly what makes the Mandarin Oriental brand so highly regarded. I hope to see the same consistency on my next visit. Kind regards Olek

We had a wonderful weekend stay at Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich, and the experience was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Mustapha, the Night Manager, made us feel genuinely welcome and well looked after. Throughout our stay, Giada, Frederica and Kimberley from the front-of-house team were consistently warm and attentive. Anaïs, the Restaurant Manager, and her team also delivered friendly and thoughtful service at breakfast, which made our mornings such a pleasure. The level of hospitality we experienced made us feel truly cared for and elevated every aspect of our stay. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for making our holiday so memorable. We are already looking forward to our next visit :)

I had a wonderful stay at the Mandarin Oriental in Zurich! The rooms are well decorated and modern. The bed is very comfortable and the rooms are quiet, one of the best nights of sleep i've had in a long time. The welcome amenities and in-room products were fabulous. The food at breakfast was amazing, especially the omelette and waffle - thanks to Barbara from reservations for recommending the banana bread. Thanks to Christian, the front office manager, for a seamless and warm check-out experience. Overall a fantastic experience, and will definitely be back the next time I am in Zurich!

While the hotel itself is wonderful, what truly made my stay memorable was the exceptional service. Alfredo from Argentina was outstanding. From the moment I arrived, his genuine kindness and attentiveness made me feel welcome and completely at ease. It’s staff members like Alfredo who turn a good stay into a great one. I highly recommend this hotel and hope to return soon!

We had an incredible stay in Zurich and would like to sincerely thank the entire team. The room and hotel facilities were excellent, but what truly stood out was the warmth and attentiveness of the staff. At check-in, Paula, Klara and Susann gave us a very welcoming start to our stay. On our last morning, the breakfast team welcomed us warmly, took the time to get to know us, and shared great tips on what to do on a Sunday in Zurich. Verona was especially friendly and pleasantly chatty, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It was immediately clear why this hotel has received the Forbes Five Star recognition — the level of personal attention was outstanding. Highly recommended.

Our stay at the Mandarin Oriental was truly exceptional, and a big part of that experience was thanks to the incredible team. A special thank you to Alfredo from Argentina, who went above and beyond to assist us throughout our stay. His professionalism, warmth, and genuine willingness to help made a lasting impression. It’s rare to come across someone so dedicated and naturally attentive. We would also like to highlight Paula at the reception, whose kindness and welcoming attitude set the tone from the very beginning. She handled everything with grace and efficiency, making us feel truly valued as guests. Sebastian at the concierge desk was equally outstanding. His knowledge, responsiveness, and attention to detail ensured that every request was handled seamlessly. The level of service, kindness, and professionalism from all three was simply amazing. They are a true asset to the Mandarin Oriental and played a huge role in making our stay unforgettable. We look forward to returning!

I came from Barcelona alone to explore Switzerland and I couldn't have felt more welcome. The service and treatment from the hotel were excellent, especially from the bellboy Jiali and his concierge colleagues Sebastian and Joseph, as well as Anaïs's professionalism in the restaurant. I will definitely return!
