This review is specifically about the spa and the Spa Café The Dolder Grand Spa offers a carefully curated menu featuring fresh salads, light bowls, juices, the famous Dolder Truffle Fries, seasonal wraps and mezze, as well as changing starters. During my latest visit, I chose the „Lemongrass Curry Cappuccino with Soft Shell Crab Tempura & Banana“. On sunny days, food and drinks are served directly to your sun lounger. Alternatively, you can enjoy them in the cosy Spa Café or the hotel’s/spa impressive library. All dishes are prepared in the hotel’s own kitchen, and in my experience over several visits, the quality has consistently been outstanding. The Lemongrass Curry Cappuccino was a true highlight. Its perfectly balanced seasoning brought all five basic tastes into remarkable harmony, creating a refined and memorable flavour experience. The Soft Shell Crab Tempura was served warm, beautifully crisp on the outside, while the delicate crab meat inside was incredibly tender and practically melted in the mouth. The lightly caramelised banana added an unexpected yet perfectly balanced finishing touch. Another permanent favourite on the menu is the Caesar Salad. Its presentation, freshness and flavour are remarkably close to the classic American original, and it has impressed me on several occasions—with one minor exception during my most recent visit.

Wow! A classic historic Swiss Castle combined with chique modern architecture. It’s tucked into the hills overlooking Lake Zurich, their golf course and the snow capped mountains in the distance. We stayed in their “historic section”. Nice size room however a little sparse on the furniture to our liking. There’s no place for two people, to sit and relax. One person, noooo problem. Their service from check-in, the concierge to the bar and the Saltz restaurant was impeccable. The ambiance of the hotel is laden with interesting artwork, pop culture of sorts. Their food, both at the bar and at their Saltz restaurant was delicious. Of special mention is their breakfast offerings which had an art form to it, almost too nice to eat. And finally their spa and gym facilities, located in their modern building, are next level, fresh, vibrant and very clean. The hotel is not convenient to access the city, but they do have a shuttle service. If you want an elegant escape, DON’T look any farther :)

Exceptional Hospitality The staff here truly define the luxury experience. Every interaction—with the valets, the reception team, the concierge, and the housekeeping staff—was marked by genuine kindness and high-level professionalism. Their dedication to guest satisfaction was especially evident when we addressed an issue with our accommodation. Room Experience The first room we were assigned was in the older wing of the hotel and did not meet our expectations. However, the staff handled our request to move promptly and efficiently. We were relocated to the modern wing, which was excellent and exactly what we were looking for. The contrast between the wings is significant, and the modern side is truly impressive. Breakfast & Gastronomy The breakfast was a "so-so" experience for a hotel of this caliber. While the products in the buffet were clearly of high quality, the buffet format itself felt more like what you would find in a 4-star hotel rather than an elite 5-star establishment. That said, the attentive service from the staff made it a pleasant experience overall. Spa & Wellness The spa is functional but not particularly large. It features a hydromassage area, an indoor pool, and saunas. While it is perfectly fine for a short stay, if your primary goal is a "wellness retreat," there are better specialized options across Switzerland. However, for a hotel so close to Zurich, it is a nice addition. Final Thoughts Located on top of the mountain with a privileged view of the city and the lake, the location is simply magnificent. Between the view and the excellent staff, it is a wonderful place to stay in Zurich.

Probably one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed at. The new section of the hotel is completely redone. The architecture is genius that integrates the old and new. Everything is automated in the rooms. The bathroom is exquisite with an amazing two person tub and 8 head shower - what an experience. The breakfast is spectacular. It was the only meal we ate in the hotel but we did enjoy drinks and snacks by the pool and in the different bar areas. The hotel staff was very attentive and everything seemed effortless. I forgot to mention the hotel is also a museum and located next to the Dolder Forest which we did hikes and e-bikes. Just a lot of fun.

We didn't stay here, just dined here for dinner. But it's an incredible hotel. From the outside you feel like you're in a James Bond movie. Inside it is more modern than you'd think, even the art. The restaurant was fantastic. Only a short drive from heart of Zurich, through a beautiful neighborhood. And once you arrive you get beautiful views from up above Zurich.

We had a great stay at this hotel. It is a gorgeous place up in the mountains and the Dolderbahn (shuttle) went right up to the hotel which we used to easily access the other trains and city. The spa was excellent and a really big benefit if you are looking for a hotel with a great spa! The food was sort of just ok and the service was also just ok. I thought this could be better considering this is a 5 star resort. Overall we had a nice time and the view is truly special.

No.1 hotel in Zurich!😊 I’ve stayed here twice already and each visit has been consistently excellent. The interior of the hotel is absolutely beautiful. And the spa? Simply amazing! The breakfast is one of the best I’ve ever had .. and the staff are incredibly friendly throughout the hotel. For me, it's the obvious choice whenever I visit Zurich. I'm already looking forward to my next stay! 😊
