Ravnholm Skov
Ravnholm Skov is a large, gently hilly woodland on the northern edge of Greater Copenhagen, just outside Kongens Lyngby on the island of North Zealand. Part of the Geelskov–Ravnholm forest area managed by the Danish Nature Agency, it is counted among Denmark's most-visited forests — a near-universal escape where city dwellers walk, run and let off steam through mixed oak-and-spruce woods, past lakes and small meandering streams. What makes it rewarding is variety in a compact space: a hilly two-square-kilometre canopy you can survey from the top of Geels Bakke, big wood-ant hills scattered through the undergrowth, spring-fed water features and quiet burial traces from the deep past. Whether you have an hour between trains or a whole family afternoon, Ravnholm offers an easy, scenic loop rather than a long expedition.
