Mirador de la bassa de les Olles del Goleró
The Mirador de la bassa de les Olles del Goleró is a timber birdwatching viewpoint perched on a raised platform above the Bassa de les Olles, the smallest lagoon in the Parc Natural del Delta de l'Ebre, just south of the seaside town of L'Ampolla in Catalonia. Reached by a ramp and a wooden walkway from the path that circles the lagoon, it gives you a quiet, elevated look across open water, reedbeds, dunes and the rice fields that surround this compact wetland. What makes it special is the combination of setting and wildlife. The lagoon—about 54 hectares, with roughly 373 hectares of protected land around it—is a remnant of one of the Ebro's oldest river mouths and sits where freshwater meets the sea of the Fangar Bay, creating an unusually varied mix of habitats in a small space. That richness draws huge numbers of birds, making the hides here a magnet for anyone who likes to stop, look and listen.
