Anse-Mire
Anse Mire is a small, sheltered bay on the northern shore of Terre-de-Haut in Guadeloupe's Îles des Saintes archipelago, set within the Baie des Saintes — widely counted among the most beautiful bays in the Caribbean. A pocket of fine sand tucked between the Anse du Bourg and Pointe Coquelet, it earns its living less as a sunbathing strand than as a quiet entry point to a fringing coral reef and a curious little shipwreck just offshore. Its greatest asset is how easy it is to reach: barely ten minutes' walk from the Terre-de-Haut ferry pier, following the road toward Fort Napoléon. That proximity makes Anse Mire a perfect first or last stop on a Saintes day-trip — a place to slip on a mask, watch iguanas sunning themselves on the sand, and take in a postcard view of the Pain de Sucre islet framed by Creole houses and the famous boat-shaped 'maison-bateau'.
