Seeta Ram Toolsie Vade Ganesh Mandir
Seeta Ram Toolsie Vade Ganesh Mandir is a small Hindu temple (mandir) in Ruimzigt, a quiet village on the West Coast of Demerara in Guyana's Essequibo Islands-West Demerara Region. Carrying the name of Lord Ganesha, it is one of the local shrines that anchor the religious life of a community of Indian-origin rice farmers, and it is recognised among the mandirs of Guyana, a country with the highest share of Hindus in the Western Hemisphere. This is a working village temple rather than a curated tourist site, and that is precisely its appeal. Its modest daily services and its fuller gatherings during the Hindu calendar reveal how indenture-era faith has taken root and flourished on Guyana's low, green coast—far from the crowds of Georgetown's grand mandirs.
