'Ayn Suf (Ein Suf)
'Ayn Suf (Ein Suf) is a hillside water spring in the green uplands of Suf, a large village about 8 km west of the Roman city of Jerash in northern Jordan. Suf is known locally as the "town of springs," and this cold, clear flow rising straight out of the limestone is one of dozens that surface along the forested slopes where the Ajloun hills roll down toward the Jordan Valley. It is not a ticketed sight or a landscaped park, but a living piece of the Jordanian countryside: a roadside spring whose water still feeds orchards and vegetable plots, and which early travellers stopped to drink from after a long dry march. Most visitors come across it on a wider loop that pairs Suf's hill walks with the grand colonnades of ancient Jerash just over the ridge.
