Angata Olduroroi
Angata Olduroroi is a sweeping savanna plain in Narok County, Kenya, perched at roughly 1,560 metres above sea level in the heart of the Maasai Mara ecosystem. Though it appears on maps simply as a terrain feature — a tract of open grassland without fixed boundaries — it carries significance for travelers because it sits immediately alongside Ol Kiombo Airstrip, the central aviation gateway to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. If you fly into one of the Mara's best-known camps, you are almost certainly landing on or beside this plain. For most visitors, Angata Olduroroi won't be a stop in itself but rather the ground beneath their first steps into the safari — the wide, golden grassland stretching toward the Talek River where predators hunt year-round and the Great Migration thunders past in the dry-season months. It is Maasai land, open sky, and one of the most wildlife-dense landscapes on Earth.
