Aarid el Manchar
Aarid el Manchar is a modest ridge sitting at roughly 540 metres in the Baabda district of Mount Lebanon Governorate, part of the network of elevated spines and saddles that gives Lebanon's central highlands their layered, undulating character. It is not a landmark with a café at the top or a signposted trailhead at the base — it is the kind of geographic feature that rewards hikers who are already walking the ridgelines and valleys of Lebanon's mountains, adding one more vantage point to a day spent between summits. What makes ridges like this appealing in Lebanon is the sense of movement across open terrain: the ground rises gradually beneath your feet, the air dries out and warms with the afternoon sun, and the view opens in long corridors toward the Mediterranean on one side and the higher Anti-Lebanon ranges on the other. Aarid el Manchar sits in a landscape where neighbouring features like Aarîd es Sîré are only a short walk away, meaning a single outing can cover several of these low ridgelines without ever losing the panoramic rhythm of the walk.
