Jambatan Tanjung Lipis
Jambatan Tanjung Lipis (Tanjung Lipis Bridge) is a quiet riverside crossing at the edge of old Kuala Lipis, set where the state's two founding rivers meet. In Malay, jambatan simply means 'bridge', and this one earns its keep on views rather than grandeur: it looks out over the confluence of the Sungai Lipis and the Sungai Jelai, the very joining of waters that gave the town its name. What gives the spot its charm is the colonial-era iron railway bridge running alongside it, a survivor of the line that reached Kuala Lipis in 1926 and carried tin, gold and timber out of the Pahang interior. Rusting steelwork, old masonry and the open river panorama make it an underrated photo stop, and the crossing is open at all hours.
