River Garden
Jardim do Rio is a riverside garden tucked between the Almada cliff and the Tagus River, offering one of the most refreshing green escapes on Lisbon's south bank. Its lush vegetation, modern design elements, and sweeping views across the water toward Lisbon make it a favourite spot for both locals and visitors seeking a moment of calm along the riverfront. The garden takes its name from its setting — literally at the edge of the river — and stretches along the escarpment line from the 18th-century Fonte da Pipa fountain to the colourful warehouses of Cais do Ginjal. The Boca do Vento panoramic elevator links the garden to the clifftop viewpoint above, creating a natural loop between sky and water.
