Wat Nong Bua
Wat Nong Bua is a quiet Buddhist temple serving the village of Ban Nong Bua in Tambon Lat Bua Khao, Sikhio District, Nakhon Ratchasima. Set in the Isan countryside east of the Korat plateau, it is a classic Thai community temple — a wat rat maintained by local families rather than a grand tourist monument, and the everyday spiritual centre for the neighbourhood around it. Founded in 1932 and affiliated with the mainstream Mahanikay order, the temple received its royal wisungkhamsima (the boundary sanction that legitimises its ordination hall) in 1993. Its heart for visitors is the Luang Pho Thong, an old Buddha image brought here from another temple, and the unhurried rhythm of merit-making, festivals and monk life that a rural Thai wat keeps.
